FIFA 18 is a decent game, the gameplay is fluid, and the game is rich in content, but at the same time it is unambitious and doesn't do enough to take the franchise to the next level

Looking at and playing through FIFA 18, you'll always have mixed feelings about it. The game is still very fun, but there's almost zero improvements from the last year's release. FIFA needs new blood, and needs it now, as PES is improving fast.

FIFA 18 lacks real innovations on big systems and has lots of shortcomings. This may lead to the fact that the old fans will not be addicted to the game as before. Switch version is the best portable FIFA experience ever, but sadly, it has lots of shortcomings too, and doesn't include a lot of elemets from PS4 and Xbox One versions, while costs almost the same.

FIFA 18 is the most gorgeous-looking soccer title to date. This is the second time the Frostbite engine has been used for the FIFA games, so the change may not seem as dramatic, but the development team has been able to achieve what it wanted with the engine. The title features tight and responsive gameplay as well as better visuals. Additionally, the Ultimate Team mode is by far one of the most interesting and encouraging ranking systems I've seen in video games. For those looking to dive head-first into a soccer game, FIFA 18 is your best choice.

FIFA 18 offers the best game of football that the series has seen in some time and provides the best overall package for fans of the sport. It might not be up there in terms of authenticity with PES on the pitch, but this year's release has made up some ground, excelling at providing those wow moments that gets fans of the real sport on their feet and punching the air.

FIFA 18 is certainly an upgrade on FIFA 17 and undoubtedly the franchise is going in the right direction, but with the same flaws still remaining it is hard to solely focus on the positives. The game needs balancing out as far too much of the game is focused on attacking, rather than the grittier and more tactical side of football. FIFA 18 is superb to look at with the slick menus, pre-match changes, vast licences, wonderfully represented stadiums, and player images, but changes to its gameplay are a necessity for me. Having played PES 2018 and FIFA 18 this year, I can comfortably say PES takes the award for being the best football game, but FIFA still has the greater depth to it, and is the more sociable game of the two.

Overall the game plays fantastically, especially if you’re an attacking team like Madrid.

EA own this sector. FIFA has everything you want and is fun right until the next one comes out.

The FIFA series has been going on for so long that the fans already know what to expect. First and foremost, FIFA 18 is a fast and flashy football game which shouldn't disappoint you if you're looking for an arcade experience.

FIFA 18 has already made me experience immense highs and depressing lows, just like football in real life. The gameplay takes a lot of getting used to, however, the changes have mostly been for the good and the A.I. is a lot smarter.

FIFA 18 is a great follow-up to last year’s game, adding and changing just enough to feel worth the purchase with the blemishes being slight enough to be mostly overlooked.

Whilst the game isn't perfect in any form, it is another step forward and sometimes feels like 2 steps back. If you are a fan of the series then I think there is plenty for you to get your teeth into. FUT returns with the addition of challenges as well as Icons of the game, career mode adds a few additions to give you more of a sense that you are actually in control of your chosen team. There have been a few things taken out, like last years penalty system, thats reverted back to a standard shoot mechanic, and for some reason I can't find the early cross button for the life of me. All in all FIFA 18 is solid, yes it has it's flaws, but then so do Liverpool.

FIFA 18 falls behind in the gameplay section once again when compared to its rival, but it makes up for a lot of those shortcomings in the rest of its offering. It’s not the best FIFA ever, but it is, at least, starting to move onwards and upwards after a couple of years of stagnating. A worthwhile purchase if you love football or football games.

FIFA 18 is just a FIFA game, and therein lies the problem. It has every game mode, mechanic and feature that a FIFA game should, but at the same time, it doesn’t have that sparkle that the usual yearly instalments of the game have in one form or another.

FIFA 18 is yet another strong addition to the long-running series. With another powerful season of The Journey, some vastly improved skill games, and the return of fan favourite Ultimate Team, FIFA 18 is a welcome step forwards in the saga of the Beautiful Game.

FIFA 18 makes some notable and important changes both on and off the pitch, but it's a formula that still often feels at odds with itself. And while EA is trying to recapture its former glory with the series, it continues to lose ground to the competition. Even if FIFA 18 is the best entry in the series for some time.

FIFA 18 does enough to better its predecessor thanks to new player animations and improvements to the gameplay. Although repetitive, the revamped transfer system is intriguing and part two of Alex's story in ‘The Journey: Hunter Returns' makes FIFA 18 the best in the series to date.

Fifa 18 is successfully the best simulator of the entire series. It’s the best thing for the fans of this popular and lovely sport. Effective improvements in the gameplay and the special attention the developers gave this game have made Fifa 18 the best game of this series. Thanks to the pile of features and different modes Fifa 18, as a sports game, can keep you entertained for hours. Fifa is getting better and better every day. It’s been changing a lot, but the gameplay has always been stable which made the yearly improvements work and the developers managed to keep the game fresh throughout the years.
