Telltale's first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within shows an incredibly promising start for the rest of the season thanks to its original story, refreshing takes on iconic characters, and lack of technical flaws.

In the end, Telltale has befittingly started off Season 2 with the enigmatic Riddler. It strays from the comics and what Batman really is, but that's their approach. They have explored the dual life of Gotham's Playboy thoroughly and have presented it in a great manner.

Improving and expanding the universe established in the first season, The Enemy Within is a great start for the new Batman series, with a screenplay that explores every facet of the hero, delivering action, dialogue and drama in the right extent, refreshing for both Batman fans and those accompanying the Telltale games.

The Enigma is a strong start for This Batman: The Telltale Series The Enemy Within, and I definitely look forward to seeing what Telltale Games does with this new season. I liked the liberties they took with Batman's origin and how his extended family of rogues reacted to him, so after enjoying this new episode I'm sure Telltale Games is going to give us a good second season.

At first, I didn't think that I would get into this game but as I played it more, the story seemed to grab my attention and now I am interested in seeing what the next episode of The Enemy Within has in store.

‘The Engima’ offers a great action-packed introduction to Batman: The Enemy Within, with the main players of the season clearly established along with some exciting teases of what’s to come. The action sequences were top notch, the decisions you had to make tense, and the overall presentation as dark and gritty as you’d expect from the depths of Gotham City – it really is a fine showing for the Caped Crusader. The frustrating issues that come with Telltale Games’ releases were present and I did feel like a few tricks were missed with the game’s puzzling, but overall it’s got me incredibly excited to see what’s going to happen next. It’s a welcome return to Batman – The Telltale Series, and Episode Two can’t come soon enough…

The Enigma opens strong but ends with a whimper. Those unfamiliar with Batman's iconic characters will most likely be surprised by how it ends but those familiar with the series will be able to predict the final moments.

I hope this series persists as long as Telltale's Walking Dead series has. I'd love to see how their interpretation changes and grows as they have more time to work with the characters.

I wish I'd been given the chance to actually solve more of The Riddler's puzzles on my own – adventure games are traditionally all about that, after all – but the tension and drama that permeate The Enemy Within's first episode make it a winner. This strong start also leaves me very excited to see how John Doe's inevitable transformation into The Joker plays out, and morbidly fascinated to see what scars this version of Gotham City will leave behind on its inhabitants.

In addition to shaking up old ideas, The Enemy Within also introduces some new things to its mechanical and narrative tool belt. The Riddler makes an early and violent debut in the game with an interesting new backstory, and with our new big villain, there's a new big ally ... maybe. Amanda Waller has brought her mysterious government task force, known only as The Agency, to Gotham on a hunt for the Riddler. Indeed, we are in something of an Amanda Waller renaissance these days, with her featuring in no less than three concurrent franchises in television, movies and games.Batman: The Enemy Within makes incremental improvements on a successful formula — and the introduction of a new, relationship-focused choice mechanic was a big hit. It might drag here and there, but it sets up for big things to come in further installments. If Enemy Within is anything like its predecessor, a little patience will pay off.

In one of the stronger starts to a Telltale season, Batman: The Enemy Within builds on the new mythos Telltale has created for the classic DC Comics hero. Villains are still villains, but Telltale gives them enough twists to feel new. Great pacing, good tension, and what looks to be an improved engine make for a great Batman adventure. Hopefully they can keep the momentum up for the whole season.

Aside from improvements to the story overall, the first episode looks and feels much better than other Telltale Games I've played recently, with a marked upward shift in dialogue choices, graphics, and quality.

The Enigma (both the episode and the villain) is a good addition for this promising second season in which Telltale should make Bruce Wayne's sections more enjoyable and less static.

Despite being someone that ended up hating The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, I had a great time with the first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within. It plays to Telltale's strengths of putting a compelling twist on an established property, and it helps that there's a story that finishes by the time the credits roll. Batman's latest adventure is still far from over, and it's clear that there's a bigger tale waiting to be told, but The Enigma will leave players satisfied even if they don't continue the series.

The Enigma offers plenty of teases for the season ahead while also improving upon the combat and presentation for Telltale's take on the powerless superhero.

By the time the first episode is over in The Enemy Within, you’re going to be left wondering just how far Telltale can push Bruce Wayne, and just how dark this series can get. It’s a fantastic example of Telltale at its best, and if you’re a fan of these games, you need to pick The Enemy Within up and get playing. If you’ve yet played the original Telltale Batman series, get it too. This one is made richer by playing its predecessor.

There's variety and a really good plot - this episode felt like a full story, but with an overarching subplot.
