Despite the high price, Pokken shines with its various Pokemon to choose from and numerous moves to master.
"without a doubt earns its place as one of the most fun fighting games in recent years."
Pokken Tournament is a very entertaining game on the Nintendo Switch that successfully gives players an almost Tekken-light experience on this console that is more fun than controller rage. Furthermore, there's quite a bit of depth hidden in this game and hours upon hours of replay value to keep you engaged as you fight the various Pokémon.
In regard to new content and improvements, DX is a bit light, especially when compared to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The graphical boost thanks to the superior Switch hardware is noticeable. But the developer could have gone for more, especially when it comes to the arenas, which show their blandness when you look at them in detail.
Pokkén Tournament DX is the definitive edition of one of the best fighting games in Nintendo consoles. This port takes advantage of Nintendo Switch's hardware which lets us play on the go and share the experience with anyone. A must have if you didn't own the Wii U version.

Pokémon Tekken DX improves over its Wii U predecessor. Besides welcome changes you can now also play on the go in handheld mode and challenge your friends anywhere you like. Owners of this game for Wii U don't really get too much out of this port if they previously played the hell out of it but new characters and modes surely do add something noteworthy for new buyers.

I think that Pokkén Tournament is a solid game that languished in relative obscurity due to the failing status of the Wii U by the time it was released. Pokkén Tournament DX doesn’t really change anything from the original design, so based on that alone it’s still a good game, regardless of what you may or may not think of the new content. While I have issues with the timing of some content’s inclusion, it only improves the game in the end, signalling the potential for continued support and content updates in the future. It certainly stands to have a better life on the Switch than it did on the Wii U, particularly if it receives some post-release love from the developers. They can start with putting the correct Pokemon into the roster lineup. If you enjoyed the Wii U version, or you wanted to play and never got around to it, it’s worth picking this up for a second go around.
An accessible game that doesn't involve imprisoning the Pokémon in small spherical cells.
This fighting game is perfect for those that have not tried the original Wii U verison. It is still one of the best options of the genre for those who own the Nintendo console.

Pokken Tournament isn't really my kind of fighting game, but I do recognise that it's a quality game, and it deserves the fans that it has.
Pokken Tournament is a game that deserved a second chance. A Pokémon fighting game is still one of the best concepts out there. I wish it was more fleshed out, and perhaps a sequel will do just that, but DX marks yet another solid first-party title to add to the Switch's already stellar year one of games.
Pokken Tournament DX is a great game and it has certainly worked to increase the sales of Nintendo Switch.
Pokkén Tournament DX may only provide a few benefits for returning fans, but the improved local multiplayer and expanded roster may be enough to draw back the old crowd. Overly simple AI and easy Challenges make the game's single-player mode a breeze, but new players may find that simply playing with their favorite Pokémon is enough to enjoy the fight.
Drop kicking normal Pikachu as a Luchadore Pikachu was a dream come true.
While Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a must buy even for those that owned the game on Wii U, Pokken Tournament DX falls in a little bit different territory. It is still a lot of fun and is easily the definitive version of the game, but how much you enjoyed the original is really going to be the deciding factor on if you want to return to the world of Ferrum with Pokken Tournament DX.
Even though Pokkén Tournament DX might not offer much in the way of new content, the added longevity it'll gain by simply being on the Switch more than justifies the port.
Fans of the original game will love everything Pokken Tournament DX has to offer.
