Marooners does a number of things right yet still feels limited in content.

If you’re after a casual experience that can be enjoyed either online with strangers or offline with family and friends, then this is a great little game for you to earn those bragging rights.

With easy and fun gameplay, M2H brought us a party game suited for all ages. It offers local and online multiplayer and a good amount of content for the asking price. It has some small issues, but you will surely ignore them. The colorful island will suck you in and put your friendship at test with greedy and chaotic minigames. Your gaming nights have just got even better with Marooners!

Marooners is party game that made its entrance on the Nintendo Switch. Visualy, the game looks good. The characters are cute, and the levels look well designed. The idea of the gameplay is a good one, but for me, it was just too frantic and quick paced. I can imagine this game being a hoot for younger kids, but for us it didn’t feel very satisfying. Combined with the price, I feel the game is too costly for what is offered.

Although Marooners is fun, it's limited. Once you've played it a few times, the novel concept of spontaneously switching between mini-games becomes familiar and quite frankly, a little bit dull. It's a great choice if you have a spare few minutes with your mates, but its lack of content can't really compete with some of the bigger party games on the market.

Despite some flaws and a couple of dud games, Marooners is the type of island getaway where I enjoyed my stay and can see myself coming back.

We would have loved to have more options so that we could select the mini-games that are more fun and focus on those. We also think that the game could definitely benefit from some DLC so that more mini-games are available and thrown into the mix. The Chaos game modifier was a great feature, and we always used it to have more fun with this release.

The sound effects and music add little to the overall experience, and the customization aspects are only skin deep. Additional modes and options would go a long way to increasing its value, but as it is, Marooners is just okay. There are much more compelling multiplayer experiences on the crowded Switch island.

Marooners has some conceptual curiosity that translates into decisions not working in the game's favor. I don't see this one having any legs on the Nintendo Switch.

Marooners could be a good party game. However bad development choices made it mediocre.

An accessible and fun game for children, but the lack of customization and game modes, make it not excellent.

Marooners can be fun with the right people but ultimately it lacks a lot of polish. The AI is lacklustre, there's not a huge amount of content, and the online community is practically non-existent.

A wonderfully mad and yet eminently compelling take on the party game genre, Marooners is just the shot in the arm that the local multiplayer scene needs on PS4.
