All in all then and Path of Exile is an enjoyable game, held back by some peculiar design choices, both in game and in the UI.

It’s a bit buggy and prone to repetition, but Path of Exile is a free-to-play Diablo clone that’s seriously worth playing. It’s dark and stylish-looking, with a rich and interesting progression system – and the cycle of slaying, looting and upgrading is as compelling as it is in Diablo 3. Given the price, it’s hard not to recommend. Grab some friends if you can, then join the trail.

Path of Exile has been out on PC for a little while now, but I have only just taken the time to play it since its release on the Xbox One. With it being a free game, I had previously found myself wondering: Just how good can this be? The answer surprised me: Very, very good.

Path of Exile is nothing truly new, but it is a well crafted and incredibly deep game in the loot grinding genre. Particularly recommended if you can play it with friends.

Path of Exile is a great RPG. It's basically free to play Diablo, but unfortunately it struggles when it comes to interface and lag. Always online restriction every so often causes the game to stutter. Otherwise it a showcase of perfectly implemented action RPG mechanics, but for free.

Path of Exile is an indispensable ARPG in consoles. The game is terribly addictive and comes full of content and an excellent performance. The hundreds of possibilities in the creation of characters and styles determined the game as one of the best alternatives of the generation.

Path of Exile is one of the best Free to Play games ever created if not the best. With its continual updates, engrossing community, great story, interesting characters, superior voice acting, ability to shape your play style in amazing and interesting ways, and that fact you will have the same play experience if you chose to drop money on it or not: it's simply a home run. Even stacked up against $60 AAA games of the last decade, Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath crushes 99% of them.

In 2019, Warframe’s then-creative director Steve Sinclair called the live-service game’s community a “hungry monster to feed.” For as many newcomers as these “endless” games attract, there are also swaths of dedicated veterans, with hundreds or even thousands of hours logged, craving more: more loot, more story quests, more characters — the list goes on. Path of Exile, for its part, has its own beast to feed. Its inexhaustible trickle of expansions and updates is a testament to that fact. How Grinding Gear plans to sate its community in the future remains to be seen — for now, there’s plenty of food to go around.
