Monster Hunter Stories is not a complex or demanding game, far from being as challenging as its mainline counterparts. If you want to dive deep into the franchise’s actually detailed and amazing lore, with a much simpler and easygoing gameplay loop, this game is for you. It featured some likeable characters, colorful visuals, Pokémon-esque monster collecting, a combat system that did not get on my nerves.
Monster Hunter Stories is a simple JRPG and not too deep in its mechanics or story, although it is quite entertaining, which fans of the Monster Hunter franchise will especially like. This remastering of the original Nintendo 3DS game comes to us at the same time as its second installment to several current systems. We will have new features and more content that make this version quite appealing both for the new user and for those who already know the original game, so it is worth giving this nice spin-off of Monster Hunter a chance.

It's far too easy and its combat system seems to be too much dumbed down, but we've had a great time with Monster Hunter Stories nonetheless. We can't stop farming eggs and monsters, and we're doing it far after the campaing was over.

While I never expected to say it, I may actually play a Monster Hunter game to completion, because Stories is the perfect storm of keeping the nuggets of the series I like while abandoning literally everything else about it.
Also considering the very low price to which this is proposed, the re-release of Monster Hunter Stories is certainly an unmissable opportunity to recover the first episode of the spin-off series and finally step into the shoes of Hakum's Rider.

Monster Hunter Stories pays homage to the best in the franchise and keeps its spirit in its various mechanics. Because it's a turn-based RPG, it features a grand story and strategic combat. With plenty of monsters to collect and raise and lots of crafting and gathering. Monster Hunter Stories provides everything you need in an RPG.
It may be different to the other games in the MH series, but Stories is a lot of fun, and the JRPG mechanics are enjoyable, providing lots of different scenarios in its combat.
The Monster Hunter Stories HD package will be received very differently depending on which platform you play on: on Sony consoles and PC, these Monster Hunter twist to the Pokémon formula has its right to be, and will mostly appeal to younger audiences. On the other side, Switch players won't get much value out of it.

Monster Hunter Stories once offered us one of the most endearing and original spin offs that we could enjoy among many of the different existing franchises, just as it did with other installments such as Dragon Quest Monsters, Portal or Mario Kart, only now tuned, adapted and with extra dressings for the new generation. In this way, Monster Hunter Stories offers us its most definitive version, including all the updates that have been available so far, such as the monsters Teostra, Kushala Daora and Rajang or the content included post launch such as the tower of deception and the new ones. customization pieces for our rider or feline companion.

Capcom has revitalized the original Monster Hunter Stories by releasing it on PC and making it compatible with the Steam Deck. While it may appear lower-budget compared to its successor, its excellent combat system and engaging RPG elements make it an enjoyable experience.
Monster Hunter Stories is a fun spinoff that holds its roots close ot its heart. Dozens of new ideas were thrown in together to create a fun new take on the Monster Hunter series. With new content, voice acting, and higher framerates, the rerelease of Monster Hunter Stories is one worth your time.
Monster Hunter Stories is a solid RPG made better by a top-class remastering effort. The work in bringing the game over to new hardware shows how much the original 3DS release punched above its own weight. Some of the game’s more innate problems like combat frustrations are still there, but ultimately I would say it's still one well worth your time. It's an especially solid RPG for beginners and fans of the series itching to see it in a new light.
Monster Hunter Stories provides a more casual alternative to the main series, offering accessible gameplay without losing the captivating storytelling, excitement, and charm that define the Monster Hunter franchise. If you’re a fan of Monster Hunter or just a fan of turn-based RPGs, you’re going to love the game a lot. However, it’s clear that Monster Hunter Stories offers a different experience, focusing more on narrative and strategic planning rather than the intense, high-stakes hunts that define the main series. While it might not reach the same level of complexity or challenge as the main games, it stands out as a delightful and engaging spin-off that enriches the Monster Hunter universe.
Monster Hunter Stories is a radical departure from the main series, offering a more laid-back experience. This remaster of the classic Nintendo DS game has made its way to consoles and PCs with few issues.
The Monster Hunter Stories Collection for PlayStation delivers around 70 to 80 hours of pleasant gameplay with fine round-based combat and a motivating character system. The remastered version of part 1 increases the experience by some nice visual improvements and benefits a lot from the totally new voiceover. It’s not on eye level with current productions, but that does not affect the atmosphere too much. The second part Wings of Ruin is still the better game with a richer world and a more complex combat system. But if you already played it on a PC or Switch, you do not experience much new. In total, the Monster Hunter Stories Collection is a rich compilation of two games, you should play if you like the Monster Hunter series and round based combat.

Monster Hunter Stories is an adventure like no other, and a standout experience on Nintendo 3DS that is worthy of your time. Heartwarming and memorable, it’s all that you could ever want it to be. Ride On!
If Capcom decided to continue this spin-off series, it will be welcome news.
For something a little more lighthearted than what you'd get from the mainline series, Monster Hunter Stories is quite good. The change to a more Pokémon-style RPG system works, and the improvements over Nintendo's series makes it stand out in a positive way. The improvements in the presentation are very welcome, and while the story is fine, the pacing of the gameplay makes the game easy to pick up and understand without much fuss. It's a solid game that should be experienced by both light RPG and Monster Hunter fans alike.
Monster Hunter Stories is a fun and lighthearted RPG that explores a new side of the series, with engaging gameplay and an enjoyable story that makes it a must-try for fans of the series.
