A fun game on console ruined on PC by lackadaisical and lazy porting.

Baja: Edge of Control HD is a decent, if uninspiring, racing title. The mechanics hearken back to a time when racing was simpler but the tracks can be boring with those mechanics in play. The modes are sparse, but they function well, and the presentation is decent, although it falls in the lower end of the spectrum for the current console generation. With the lack of competition in this field, Baja HD can look enticing, but don't expect it to compete with the bigger names in the genre.

Baja: Edge of Control HD is a remaster that may be head-scratching at first, but once you get your hands on it, there's plenty to enjoy. Outside of some mixed texture work, the game runs and plays silky smooth. Given the game's accessible price tag, off-road racing fans certainly have a lot to enjoy. There's just something blissful about racing out in the open terrain, overlooking the land.

Overall, Baja: Edge of Control is a remaster that has held up over the years though it is kind of baffling as to why we're getting a new version in the first place.

Baja Edge of Control is a game that no one remembers, has a HD remaster title yet doesn't look much better than the original, is old fashioned, brutish, has no finesse with no lavish budget – But you know what? It's fun and what it does do, it does it well. It's the sort of game that I will happily turn on, complete a cup in the career which will take 20 minutes and turn it off again, just like I do with Mario Kart. And then I'll do the same the next day. And the next. That's the beauty of this game. You can invest as much time in it as you like. Spend hours fine tuning, or just a few minutes here and there having a quick race. No matter which way you play you will get the same result of an enjoyable racer.

This is a new oportunity to enjoy BAJA: Edge of Control after almost ten years from its release. However, even though this is a remastered version, the games still looks too old and lacks the functions that other racing games have.

Baja: Edge of Control HD is one of a kind in the racing world, using momentum and control as its main focus. Events are a relentless fight from start to finish and that certainly keeps the driving title refreshing through its tons of tracks.

I had fun. I love off-road racing games and this one just scratched that itch. The track diversity is nice, I just wish it didn't turn into such a grind as the game went on.

BAJA: Edge of Control HD offers a different bet to the players who enjoys driving games by offering a category rarely used in video games. We have to mention its great duration because if the game gets you caught it will keep you glued to the control for many hours, being this the biggest and almost unique incentive that enjoys the game.

Overall, and whilst Baja: Edge of Control HD isn’t anywhere near close to the “Forza-for-off-road fans” experience that many gamers have been clamouring for, there are still plenty of improvements to be found with a title that was overly disappointing on its initial release back in 2008.

Baja: Edge of Control HD won't attract anyone with its graphics, although the gameplay itself is extremely fun.

As Baja can hardly be called a beloved classic, it's an odd choice for the remaster treatment, never managing to feel anything more than a decade-old racer. Who says remasters should be reserved for the cream of the crop though?

Baja is about as middle of the road as remasters get. While it's great to see Nordic paying attention to its stable of dormant THQ properties, exhuming an average racing game from 2008 seems a tad misguided. Baja hasn't aged particularly well, but it's far from bad and there's still some fun to be had taking to the track. You just have to question why this remaster even exists.

Released at a budget price, Baja: Edge of Control HD isn't going to blow anyone away, but for racing game fans after some cheap off-road thrills it's certainly worth considering.

With Baja: Edge of Control HD, THQ Nordic has brought back into the limelight an undervalued gem of a racer.

Baja: Edge of Control HD is a fine remaster of the game and I'm not sure why this particular game got the treatment, but I'm not at all against it as it can be fun to play.

Baja: Edge of Control HD is a better game than what the original used to be; homewever, the lack of diversity among the tracks makes the game fun only in the short term, and even the multiplayer modes can't do much to help about that.
