Critic Reviews for Atomega

The people behind Grow Home return with an ingenious multiplayer battler.

Ironically, Atomega's fatal flaw is that it never grew to its full potential. It's a mostly-unique multiplayer game that's good until it's too familiar. Once it's too familiar, it's too small and simple for its own good. Call it growing pains.

Ubisoft presents an interesting game and a curious idea. However, it becomes really monotone due to the lack of game modes and only one playable map.

Simple & fun, this game offers first person action and a self-building style that makes the player feel powerful... or really tiny. A good experience with a little lack of variety.

Atomega's concept is great, especially in a world of identikit PvP shooters, but its dearth of content means it simply doesn't last.

Atomega is a nice shooter from the studio behind Grow Home. It's simple to approach and entertaing to play, though it has only a map and a game mode.

There is no PvE or Bots that take the place of players, so if you can’t find others to play with, this has the potential to be a very lonely game. Luckily, Atomega is priced well enough that even the casual arena fan could find a lot to like here, for as long as the game stays populated. If you find yourself looking for a great stand-in while waiting for your next big arena game, Atomega could be the game you’re looking for, just don’t expect it to evolve into more than that.

Atomega is a missed opportunity. The choice of reveal the game one week before its launch penalizes a nice job from a talented developer studio as Reflections. Atomega offers a simple gameplay and a dreamlike setting, but despite that and a tempting launch price, the lack of variety in both game modes and maps cause players to feel bored after a few matches. We hope that in future the dev team can add more contents in order to provide more variety to an interesting experience.
