While the story is largely forgettable there's plenty of fan-service for Fire Emblem lovers here; granted, the cast list focuses on the more recent outings on the 3DS, but we imagine that DLC will redress the balance moving forward. Despite the addition of deeper tactics we fear that Fire Emblem Warriors may still be too samey for those who have struggled with Koei Tecmo's franchise in the past, but everyone else should definitely give this a try; it may well be one of the best Musou outings yet seen.

I found immense enjoyment in watching some of my favorite Fire Emblem characters fight hordes of foes in 3D, as it something we have never really gotten with the series before. While the game is let down a bit by mediocre AI and underwhelming voice acting and story, Fire Emblem Warriors delivers with enjoyable gameplay that blends mechanics from both Fire Emblem and Warriors games into something unique and unlike anything else on the Nintendo Switch. I hope Koei Tecmo continue this collaboration with Nintendo, either on sequels to Fire Emblem and Hyrule Warriors, or another IP like Xenoblade.

Fire Emblem Warriors is a pleasant hybrid of pure Mus' action and tactics elements borrowed from the Intelligent Systems' series. It has a lot to offer to hack'n'slash fans and it feels like it should inspire future Dynasty Warriors games...

Fire Emblem Warriors will be a great spin-off title for fans of the modern Fire Emblem games, with solid gameplay to boot.

Fire Emblem Warriors proves that with the right team, any kind of genre is befitting. With true loyalty to what the franchise is, plenty of characters to be, and lots of enemies to fight, this is one game you shouldn't pass up.

Despite the silly and over-the-top story, Fire Emblem Warriors takes aspects from both respective series and breathes new life into them – the elements of the Warriors series make perfect sense in the Fire Emblem world, and the features and mainstays of the Fire Emblem series bring a new depth to the Warriors franchise. While some may be put off by the fact that the game can be overly helpful, this is adjustable, and ultimately a really good addition to the musou game genre. A real gem for both Warriors and Fire Emblem fans alike.

Fire Emblem Warriors is surely the best musou to grace a console in the last years: the strategic elements taken from the Fire Emblem franchise deepen its gameplay, making it attractive even to non-musou fans.

Fire Emblem Warriors follows along the vein of Hyrule Warriors, featuring characters from all throughout the franchise.

Fire Emblem Warriors feels just as fresh as Hyrule Warriors did in some ways, though it never quite reaches the same highs. That doesn't mean it's not a great game, as the title is still a great addition to any Switch owner's library.

Overall, my time with Fire Emblem Warriors was fun but it's most certainly more fun for long time Fire Emblem fans. The fan service is top-notch and there are a ton of cool cameos from past characters in the franchise. The cutscenes and visuals are amazing–something I can't wait to see more of when the next Fire Emblem game comes to the Switch.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Warriors titles because after a long day of work it's fun to take out my various frustrations on thousands upon thousands of units. The fact that it's in a universe that I've become a huge fan of and that I can take it wherever I go is huge pluses. There's a few holes in the game that the season pass might alleviate somewhat, but the core package of Fire Emblem Warriors is still worth diving into.

Fire Emblem Warriors is more than just your typical hack-slash, button-mashing affair. While the action and over-the-top combos are highly entertaining, the real joys of this game are the Fire Emblem mechanics and the strategy that goes along with it.

Fans looking for another methodical tactical RPG might be disappointed by Fire Emblem Warriors, but it really manages to unite these two distinct franchises. It feels incredibly natural to swap between singular hack-and-slash combat and the more strategic controlling of troops. It’s a real achievement by Koei Tecmo. If you’re patiently waiting for the next mainline Fire Emblem game, Warriors has you covered.

Fire Emblem Warriors charges headlong into battle with assured confidence, bolstered with a roster of heroes that effortlessly translate to Dynasty Warriors’ lust for over-the-top action. Your quest to save the kingdom of Aytolis may not find similar strength, but History Mode is resolute in wanting to captivate your attention for hours on end. For that, those that long to rack up ludicrous kill counts in the midst of battle will savour the thrills that this Nintendo Switch exclusive presents.

Easy to play with a satisfying, if over-simplistic, battle system but Fire Emblem Warriors does a good job of balancing a game that can be played by newcomers to Dynasty Warriors-style games, veterans of Fire Emblem or newcomers to both.

Fire Emblem Warriors offers a solid hack and slay expierence and performance on the New 3DS. Even if the story won't surprise you that much, the solid cast of the series will. The mix between these two very different genres is well made and fans from both sides will get great time out of it.

Fire Emblem Warriors may not fully please hardcore fans but it’s great for those new to the series. And while it may not be perfect in its execution, the charming cast, addictive gameplay and various modes, is reason enough to sink plenty of hours into this game.

Fire Emblem Warriors offers a plethora of content and the overall experience is fantastic. There are some aspects that fails to live up to what was done in Hyrule Warriors but there are also some mechanics that are better. This game does more right than wrong and the amount of fanservice for both the Fire Emblem fans and those who love the Warriors series shows that care and love went into the coding of this game. I do wish we would have gotten some more characters from older Fire Emblem games and I do wish the story had some deeper meaning and/or player connection but the characters available all are fantastic to play with and they are all diverse in how they attack and how they play. In its debut year, the Switch has racked up a healthy list of games which many of them are must own. It makes me happy to be able to add this Fire Emblem Warriors game to that list. From the massive amounts of unlockables to its customization and to its deep combat, this may be Omega Force and Team Ninja’s best Warriors game to date and they should be applauded for being about to continue the innovation of their franchise and avoid it from becoming stale.
