Although Bad Apple Wars may have a slow beginning, it is worth pushing through to allow yourself to learn about these amazing backgrounds and build great friendships and romances in one visual novel.

Regrettably, the game's production design and player engagement are never quite as rich and expansive as its internal mythology.

Admittedly, I don’t normally play the style of games that Bad Apple Wars falls under, mainly the “dating sim” style games. Even more so when it’s also female oriented, so this is a step in a new direction for me, so bear with me a bit. That being said, the game isn’t bad, even from a male perspective, but I wouldn’t say it’s all that great either. The music is good, but the storylines and characters could definitely use some work.

Bad Apple Wars can be classified as an interesting story experience with a lack of gameplay elements. The game offers a quirky cast of characters with a great art style to back them making it an ideal choice for those looking for their next visual novel in the Otome genre.

Between the heartfelt character stories, sexy designs, and the deep intimacy brought about by game mechanics, I found Bad Apple Wars' romance much more intertwined with everything that's going on.

Bad Apple Wars tells a beautiful and touching story, full of philosophical discussions, without avoiding sad and dramatic moments. It's a mandatory acquisition for otome visual novels fans. There are some small problems, but the game lives up to the quality one expects from Otomate's games.

For fans of otome games, Bad Apple Wars may feel like a love-it-or-hate-it experience that will mostly depend on how much you're able to put up with. If you're able to find aspects of the characters you like, its romance subplots will probably pay off.

Philosophical and bittersweet, yet also uplifting and wonderful, Bad Apple Wars is another fine addition to any Otome fan's library. This title's greatest quality is its storyline. While it is a slow burn, it's also well constructed and thought provoking. The protagonist does a great job of figuring out her place in this strange world, and doing whatever she can to help her friends out. The supporting cast is sometimes quirky, sometimes a bit dangerous, but they are all interesting. Aside from a few nit-picks, the aesthetics are pleasing to both the eyes and ears. All in all, it's a solid effort.

Bad Apple Wars is a visual novel that doesn't reinvent the genre, but is still a good release on the PlayStation Vita. I liked the branching story, but thought that the presentation could have been better. If you're looking for a new visual novel to take for a spin on PS Vita, then this could be what you needed.

A short but sweet game that's worth checking out if you want an otome fix.

Overall, BAW provides a rollercoaster of emotions. It will take you on a ride through the spine-chilling, the heartwarming, through good and bad. By the end, you have to question whether there is truly a difference.

The story is by no means without fault, but Bad Apple Wars has something truly charming about it. The characters are so well written that I kept coming back until I'd seen everything the game had to offer and was touched every time.

Bad Apple Wars' lean tale of passionate teenage love in purgatory is, in a word, fine. But "fine" doesn't leave a lasting impression.

A well-made otome game, where as a high school student we go after death to school purgatory. Although nothing original, yet intriguing story can cling to the console screen for longer.

The story is so great, it's difficult for me to not recommend it, but I can only, in good conscience, recommend only one playthrough. The magic is a bit lost after that.

Bad Apple Wars explores the afterlife in a way that is sure to grab the interest of visual novel fans, especially those who are already fans of Angel Beats!. However, the inconsistencies in character routes and a few dull events involving Rinka's pathetic attitude holds the game back from being a great otome. There is plenty to love of Bad Apple Wars, but to me it doesn't stand out when compared to some of the better otome visual novels available.

Bad Apple Wars is yet another interesting otome game from Otomate that manages to stand out from their other releases really well but one that has a terrible font that annoyed me constantly.
