Episode 2, “A Brave New World,” puts more pressure on the player to make some serious decisions, but allows ethical deduction to make choices actually feel important.

The episode is filled with interesting storylines and events wrapped around intricate and addictive dialogue. I really love how well the characters are brought to life in this series. Rachel and Chloe’s relationship still remains the highlight and is a joy to watch. It’s sweet and fragile yet bold and adventurous. The two compliment and contrast each other so well and the dialogue just flows when they are together.

While the episode may not be quite as good as the first, Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 – Brave New World is another excellent addition to the Life is Strange series. If you enjoyed the first and can't wait to see more come from the Chloe and Rachel relationship, this new episode is a must play for you.

The standard of this second episode feels like a traditional Act Two. It’s not quite as good as the first, and is hopefully sitting here just to bridge the gap that is leading to an exciting final third.

A powerful central relationship, an enigmatic plot, and terrific writing all elevate Before the Storm above the original series. This is fantastic adventure gaming, and some of the best writing in games at the moment, held back only by slightly shallow mechanics.

Overall, while Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a great game; it feels that it falls short to its predecessor. But nonetheless, it's still a great game on its own and if you want a game that makes you feel as if you're playing one of those teenage drama shows that you see on television, then buy it and enjoy going through the life in Arcadia bay once more.

Episode 2 really aims to build on the story set out in the first episode. There’s not as much gameplay as in previous episodes, this does bring you back to the reality that this is, in essence, a visual novel but also allows the story to be developed in a fitting manner.

The short in-game timeline and having to build the world inside the established Life is Strange canon would probably be too much for most devs to handle yet Deck Nine has built amazing characters and relationships inside their own little bubble in Arcadia Bay

Where Awake did a great job reacquainting Life is Strange players to the harsh reality in Arcadia Bay, Brave New World does as great a job making us care for Chloe again while also giving people another look at characters that seemed like different people in the original game.

As it’s own story, it works well and does really showcase a great range of emotions in a developing and presumably pivotal relationship. But none of it matters. We know how it ends. With one episode to go, a series that prides itself on the ability to manipulate time is somehow running out.

Before The Storm Episode 2, Brave New World, is packed full of nods to the original Life Is Strange but the brashness and immaturity of Chloe is starting to wear thin.

Even though the second episode is mostly focused on its characters rather than incidents, it is a compelling lead-in to the impending finale all the same.

Life is Strange Before the Storm Episode 2: Brave New World is a fantastic addition to this 3 part series. It still suffers from the same issues from the first episode but these are minor complaints.
