Alteric had the potential to be a good alternative to the difficult platforming genre. However, the various issues that rise up, from "sliding" off during intricate platforming sections, to respawning on top of a boss for another immediate death, can be very annoying.

I definitely want to say this is a game to pick up for anyone looking for a challenge. You won’t be disappointed in that aspect at all. Something I always take in to consideration with most of these types of games is the pricing. The price is perfect for the title and you will definitely get your money’s worth. For any of the trophy hunters looking for another platinum to go after, this is your game.

If you're the type of person who, for example, loves to 100% game such as Super Meat Boy, then Alteric is one release that will certainly scratch that “want to play a challenging but not unfair game” itch. Can you make it to the end? Will you manage to unlock the Platinum trophy? Let us know in the comments below!

Alteric is on of those games that you can recommend under very specific conditions. If you are looking for a cheap game that will challenge your skills, that's your game. Otherwise it doesn't look, sound and plays good enough to be of any interest.

The between light and dark and the colors of the two worlds do make the game visually appealing. Unfortunately, the lack of content and the game's physics make this title a hard one to recommend. One particularly difficult stage took me over 200 tries, and almost had me break my Switch in two; maybe the Dark Souls comparison is apt after all.

Alteric feels like a billion other indie games out there, and wants to punish players more than challenge them. Luckily, the physics do make the platforming feel satisfying, and thee gam can be completed in a couple hours. Still, there are many other video games that deserve your time.

That said, the comparison to Super Meat Boy and its ilk shouldn’t quite be taken as an endorsement in Alteric being in the same class of quality and polish, not by a long shot...

Alteric was a fun little game to play and I would recommend it to trophy hunters purely for its quick platinum. If you sit back and play it from beginning to end without the guides that are out there then you will get more out of the game as you will have to figure out how to proceed on your own. As a whole, it's a short, challenging platformer which should last you a few hours under normal conditions and at times can really frustrate you

Alteric probably is going to fall by the wayside when it's all said and done. Which is a bit unfortunate. It has potential and if you give it a chance it's a good way to kill a few hours with a challenging platformer if you're into that kind of thing.

Alteric fails to tick any of the boxes that make such a platformer fun.
