Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a pretty large misstep for the developer despite a few good moments.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is an average episodic adventure series from Telltale Games with all the positives and negatives you would expect. If you've liked their previous games, it's not a bad choice, but don't expect a revolutionary experience.

Telltale held the power to make it a memorable addition to the Telltale library, but they let it slip away.

This final episode of Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy series just feels a bit flat and doesn't quite offer up the tough choices that the previous episodes have featured.

Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy ends by reminding us of all the low points of the series so far.

There are points where Guardians of the Galaxy is barely playable because of how terrible the engine is. Yes, the story at least has some heart to it, and at key points your decisions feel like they matter. But it mostly feels like Telltale was creatively backed into a corner with this property full of oddball characters, and the end result is far from the studio's best work.

Telltale's version of Guardians of the Galaxy may not have made the best first impression upon debut, but towards the end of the season the story had finally managed to get going in a positive way. While it may have been too little too late, the ramifications it has for a potential season two should be reason enough to get into this season. The decision-making was extremely one-sided and lacked any sense of moral urgency and quandaries. While it still suffers from the same clunky control scheme, the character development between each of the Guardians is a fascinating rollercoaster to experience. In addition, battling Thanos was a terrific way to open up the series. Moreover, the soundtrack greatly helps in setting the tone and furthering the adventure with its catchy tunes.

Episode Five brings the season to a positive close, and while we all like a happy ending, it does perhaps paper over a few of the more negative choices you've likely made. The character-driven aspects of the series have been brilliant, as has learning more about each of the Guardians' pasts, but it's still been foisted by Telltale's creaky engine and often dull interactivity. I'd still be excited for another season, or indeed for another Marvel property to be given the same treatment, but we need some real changes made to how you physically take part in the story to keep people coming back for more.

Telltale has barely changed their interactive story approach for Guardians of the Galaxy, but that's not such a bad thing. With a solid application of humor, fun combat sequences, and a well-realised cast, they have forged a bold space adventure.

Guardians of the Galaxy has a rather dull start despite having potential for a vast intergalactic universe. The story focuses on building the main cast of characters and features plenty of great gameplay improvements that allow the player to interact with the environment and control the flow of the story.

The end of the episode does lend itself to a second season coming out, with a mysterious figure finding Thanos’ body. I hope this does lead onto a second season as I found Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy to be one of my favourites. Episode 5 does have a slight premature ending, but ultimately rounds off the season pretty well.

A very funny game that will also give you feels. It will take you about nine hours to complete, and you'll have a blast doing so.

Strong writing, great performances, an engaging story with choices that matter, and a fantastic soundtrack make Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy an intergalactic ride worth taking. Just don't forget your Walkman.

Telltale's premiere season for their take on the Guardians of the Galaxy proves to be an enjoyable one, as the stellar soundtrack and combat sequences prove to be the high points of the occasionally humorous adventure. A little fine tuning from the dialogue and engine could have gone a long way, but as it is, Telltale's adaptation of the dysfunctional space family is one worth checking out for fans of the movies or comics, or those looking for a lighthearted sci-fi adventure.

This game resembles a roller coaster with a weak first episode, perfectly executed second, slightly weak third, best fourth and fairly good finale. If you like episodic adventures, then you should try Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

Overall, the first season of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a decent start to the episodic series, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy is another excellent addition to Telltale's growing library of games. The fantastic story and decisions help mold the story into a personal dialogue of the player's choosing, encouraging multiple playthroughs with unique outcomes.

Guardians of the Galaxy from Telltale lets us discover origin story of all the characters in the MCU. It's quite important this time as Guardians are quite obscure characters. Beyond obvious importance it's simply the great game from Telltale, the best since The Wolf Among Us even though it's riddled with immersion breaking mini games and sequences.
