Doom runs really well on the Nintendo Switch besides some recurring framerate issues when you encounter more enemies. If you can live with a missing snapmap editor and a reduced graphic performance you'll definitely have some fun on the go. If you wanna play it mainly on a TV you should stick with the other versions of the game.

Doom on Switch is an amazing port that looks incredibly great in a portable mode, but really outdated if you play it in home console mode on a large TV. Nevertheless, it's still Doom with meaty and fun gameplay. If you prefer a portable gaming or want to be able to play Doom on the road, you can safely buy this version of the game. In other cases it's better to buy it on PC, PS4 or Xbox One.

DOOM on Nintendo Switch runs a fantastically fun, playable version of our favorite console shooter, but it can't be denied that optimizations and the lower framerate make for a less pretty, slightly rougher version of the game. Despite that, if you want a handheld version of DOOM, I still can't help but recommend it. It plays well for the most part and is still loads of fun and a refreshing experience, even a year and a half later.

Even though this is the worst version of Doom available up to now, it's still a remarkable achievement for Nintendo's hybrid console and a good version of one of the best shooters of 2016.

Bethesda did it -- they ported Doom to a Nintendo console. It might not be the prettiest version, but it works, and it was enough to get me to play it all over again. Nintendo learned a lot from its failure on the Wii U, and its ability to welcome in more mature games on the system is something it hasn't done in quite a while. It's a message for all the prospective first and third parties alike -- keep doing it.

Knowing the limitations of this console, DOOM manages to mantain its essence and offers wild and amazing combats. An incredible game that is a must-buy for Nintendo's new console..

Brutal, fast paced and fun, Doom pays homage to classic FPS. Nintendo Switch version, at 30 FPS (unstable), is not as spectacular as the original released last year, but remains fresh and it´s unique in its genre.

While it's perhaps not as polished as it is on other formats, having DOOM in portable form is a revelation, and developer Panic Button deserves high praise for porting over id Software's classic title so brilliantly.

Doom arrives to Nintendo Switch with lots of blood, the same experience we lived in PS4, Xbox One & PC, and an important graphics-downgrade in order to make it fin in the tiny portable/hybrid Nintendo Switch console.

If you are looking for a game to blow up demons and add a solid FPS to your Nintendo library, look no further than Doom. It packs the entire campaign and much of the multiplayer onto a portable console, meaning that you don't need to stop fragging just because you need to leave the house. The game's eye candy has been reduced to match the console's processing power, as well as feels a bit awkward using the console's portable joy-cons rather than the pro controller. Even so, the game is worth a playthrough and hopefully a good sign of what is to come.

A seemingly impossible port is carried off surprisingly gracefully, with the old school shooter action working very well as a handheld game.

It's clear, beyond the obvious limitation with resolution and frame-rate, that DOOM for Switch has had to make some restrictions.

The less capable hardware does force a lot of sacrifices, but fewer than many might have expected. This results in a less visually pleasing game, but still a solid one that delivers on the important stuff. And the game really takes new shape when played in handheld mode, presenting one of the best looking and playing shooters ever found on a portable console.

If you're excited about the prospect of playing first-person shooters on Switch, Doom is a good bell-weather. Personal physical limitations and hand size seem to be the biggest variable when it comes to enjoying the genre. But even if hands are perfectly built to slaughter demon hordes, you're still going to have to swallow some iffy visuals.

If you own multiple devices and play primarily in your own home, buy DOOM on another console. If you play whilst on the go a lot, DOOM may very well be the best first-person shooter ever put on to a handheld device. In any case, DOOM is still DOOM, and DOOM is great. Here's hoping we get more portable experiences like this on the Switch.

Doom was already a fantastic game when it released last year, but being able to take it anywhere with relatively few technical concessions is truly a testament to not only its developers but also the Switch itself. This may not be the definitive version of Doom, but it is without a doubt the most versatile. It's also much better than the Super Nintendo version.

Those hoping for the same on the Nintendo Switch should probably avoid purchasing Doom for Nintendo's platform as it's easily the worst place to play it on.

Doom is also impressive on Nintendo Switch, but the controls with the Joy-Con are very fussy. A Pro Controller is required!
