There are very few games out there that can still be re-released time and time again and still be worth giving another shot. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, however, is one of those very games. Following up on the release last year in remastered form, the game is back again with not as great of visuals and a lack of mods, but new motion controls and the ability to take it on the go. Especially for those that missed out on the game the first few go arounds, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is definitely worth taking a look at for Nintendo Switch owners.

It’s that unending freedom to be anyone that you want to be, to go anywhere and be able to do anything that makes it such an engrossing world to exist in. And now that you can take that masterful experience anywhere on Nintendo Switch, it’s the perfect chance to become the Dragonborn.

With the visual, sound, and bug issues aside, I love having Skyrim on my Switch. To be able to lose myself in that world at the drop of a hat is something that I’ll never get used to.

Six years after its original release Skyrim is still a magnificent RPG, set in a detailed world. Carrying a game like this in our pocket, thanks to Nintendo Switch, is pure magic.

Skyrim on Switch is the same excellent game it's always been. It doesn't support mods but the fact that such a massive, engrossing game is now portable is justification alone for another purchase.

A great addition that makes sense mostly if you plan to play on the go. If you think you'll play Skyrim mostly at home get it for a different platform.

Skyrim VR is one of the best VR games that are in the market nowadays. Even though this game has gone through almost every console and also PC, this is a great way to surprise the player and create a better immersion.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim isn't something I thought I would play much on Switch, but in fact, I've hardly put it down. It runs well, looks good, and most importantly, fits the form factor perfectly. Unlike DOOM, this is a port with absolutely zero compromises and offers a full-fat Elder Scrolls experience.

The Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a truly wonderful game, yet another potential killer application for the new Nintendo console. Despite occasionally showing the fact that it was originally released in 2011, the game is still one of the best fantasy experiences out there.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is yet another great port on the hybrid Nintendo platform that includes all the content released since its debut 6 years ago. The joy of playing Skyrim remains just as we remember with an added portability bonus, built around quality, that is a fundamental key to recommend it.

Skyrim is an absolutely phenomenal game. It has aged, but that is hardly a detriment to such a content-rich experience. The animations are somewhat stiff, but the game greets the player with such stunning views at every corner that this is easy to overlook

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is an addictive game, but it shows its age in several ways. It's the full Skyrim experience, and all three additional DLC packs are unlocked from the beginning. It's a game-changer that players can play a game as time-consuming as Skyrim while they're out and about. However, you have to ask yourself if a solid port of a six-year-old game, portable or not, is worth the $60 price tag.

Although it may not be immune to the test of time, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim still holds up as one of the most immersive virtual worlds ever created in a video game. All of its vastness, beauty, characters, stories, and goofy bugs fit nicely onto the Switch, where it runs at a good, steady framerate and resolution. The addition of motion controls are handy unless you plan to be a melee fighter, and amiibo support is a nice touch, but neither is really a game changer. This is a great way to get your Skyrim fix if you've never played before or have been looking for a reason to jump back in.
