Judging purely on the current state of Street Fighter V, with the new additions and inclusion of the season 1 and 2 characters in the Arcade Edition, it is most certainly one of the must-own fighters on the market right now. The arcade mode is enough to warrant anyone picking this up, even if it has arrived far too late. The FM changes are unfortunate, but the biggest peeve is that Arcade Edition itself is an extremely limited package, since everything here, barring the previous DLC characters, are free updates for owners of the original. The least Capcom could have done is put a few extra costumes and stages in there because, otherwise, the only reason to pick this up is if you don't already have SFV and want a cheap way of buying it and the first two character packs. SFV will have plenty more years in it, but being so tight and not turning this release into a current ultimate edition is disappointing, even if it's not surprising.

When it was released, Street Fighter V featured an interesting gameplay and it was set to receive a lot of content. The first year was solid, while the second year is debatable. However, the third season has already begun in the right way with the launch of the Arcade Edition. The game got even better with the new modes and gameplay options. For those who were afraid to check out the game, it is time to do it. The only problem, for now, is the changes made to get Fight Money.

After 2 years and a lot of additions and changes, Capcom finally sends us a new version of Street Fighter V, one that includes all the content that has been launching for the title since it came out to market on 2016 as well as some new and well acclaimed additions that makes this feel like the real game that should had launched from the beginning.

Arcade Edition is what Street Fighter V should have been when it was first released. A great deal of added content in single-player mode, a wide variety of characters, thrilling gameplay, ear-catching soundtracks, and an engaging online mode with good netcode have been combined to create one of the best fighting games in recent memory. No matter if you are an old fan of the series or a newcomer, the game is definitely worth your time and attention.

If you felt like the previous iteration of Street Fighter V felt a little anemic, this one is easily an embarrassment of riches. With more new features than is reasonable to recap here, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition is everything the original game should have been, and much more.

It's taken Capcom just under two years to finally deliver the definitive Street Fighter V experience but I'm so happy they continued to support the game and released this version, especially seeing as it's free to all current owners of the base game. If you are new to the genre and want to start slow, there is now a full, meaty single player and an arcade mode for you to both practice and progress though.

It’s not the deluxe edition that people were hoping for and doesn’t entirely fix any of the problems present from the vanilla version. It could’ve been amazing, but it just falls short of a great comeback.

The Arcade Edition added features give it a lot of meat for sure, but the irony is most of it is ultimately filler to the core gameplay experience that was first available in 2016. This leaves Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in a curious middle ground of being an excellent niche product, but only a “good” video game.
