Metal Gear Survive doesn't come close to offering the same level of immersion that past Metal Gear games did but it's still definitely one of the most addictive survival-based gaming experiences that I've ever played.

Is Metal Gear Survive worth it? Oh yeah, totally. Game of the Year. Honestly, I don't know why you haven't bought it yet! Death Stranding won't be able to compete with this. Sarcasm aside, don't buy this game, just don't. Yeah, the environments and visuals are kind of neato and the feeling of helplessness certainly comes across, but it's just a clusterfuck.

From a horribly botched launch to clunky UI and a hunger/thirst meter that actively tries to kill you, there's so much this game does wrong that it's hard to focus on what Metal Gear Survive does right.

Metal Gear Survive is a strange mix of survival horror with open world. On the one hand, there are some superb ideas seen in the game that could have been great to play but on the other hand, the game constantly keeps testing your patience by forcing you to micromanage the health of your character.

Metal Gear Survive hadn't known where to stop. It had had a complicated structure while taking samples from several game types. It may make ones who are patient and like survivals spend some time on. This game hosts lots of contents but does not entertain enough.

Metal Gear Survive is a far cry from any other game released prior in the series, but that doesn't make it any less compelling. So it's up to you: either cling on to the notion that Metal Gear Survive is a terrible cash-in and miss out on an interesting adventure, or put your misconceptions aside and jump right in and have some fun. I know what I'd do.

if we ignore all this, the game contains a very good idea, yes it needs some final technical touches that might make it better but that never prevents it was enjoyable and offer you a different and new experience, all the mistakes we have encountered and the problems that we have encountered can be ignored and repaired through updates to balance enemies and consume resources and others, we've seen a lot of games that return from death and that change from its format after a period of release

Metal Gear Survive is a strange and unique mix. On one hand it's an interesting survival game, on the other it's a merge of Sci-Fi elements with a shoehorned political plot and dull characters. The game has some genuinely fun and intense moments, but it's mechanics and stiff controls sometimes make the experience unnecessarily difficult. Despite all of this the game can be quite rewarding and keeps you in a state of urgency that can be really fun.

What you have here is a quality survival experience, but those looking for tactical espionage operations might want to keep looking.

As a different direction for the series this isn't a bad choice and does have some interesting ideas and mechanics and the story does have its zany MGS moments, but an overall weak story and cast of characters and simplistic missions and the harsh survival elements sucks a lot of the fun of the experience.

Metal Gear Survive is an enticing, challenging, polished and occasionally frustrating spinoff that doesn't devalue the reputation of the franchise, and offers a unique standalone experience that fans of survival games should enjoy getting stuck into.

Metal Gear Survive is a mediocre survival game, and that's it. All the great things about the Metal Gear franchise are gone and all you can find here is hour after hour after hour of repetitive survival gameplay. This is how you kill a franchise.

Metal Gear Survive is not for everyone. This is better approached as an open-world survival-horror game where building weapons from scratch, clawing at animals for food while drinking dirty water found in the world defines what it takes to survive. Including the Metal Gear name increases the external pressures around this game, as it is different to what fans of the franchise may expect. Aside from the aggravating always-online infrastructure of the game, Metal Gear Survive is a pretty good outing for those looking for a reason to battle zombies in an extremely vulnerable state. While the story is pretty meh, it is the exploration factor and sense of discovery and accomplishment, as well as feeding those hunger and thirst meters that showcase the fun and enjoyment of this experience.

Konami killed another series. Even without comparison to main Metal Gear games, Survive is a boring and uninspiring experience overall.

Metal Gear Survive is a good survival game that pays the fact of being the first Metal Gear game after Hideo Kojima departure from Konami. With a different name, this brand new spin-off in the Metal Gear saga would have received less ferocious criticism and being appreciated for its good gameplay and ideas, despite the lack of a good story and cut-scenes.

Metal Gear Survive is not necessarily a poor survival game, because it has several interesting mechanics and concepts that could have been better explored in order to entertain the player. Its plot is mediocre and shows how Hideo Kojima was essential for the construction and development of the series. Unfortunately, many of the elements of the franchise are absent here, and the few that remain exist as a reminder to the player that he is playing a title belonging to the Metal Gear saga. The only reason for this title is Konami's willingness to cash in on the countless fans of the series and, if you are a fan, do yourself a favor and do not destroy your feelings for the franchise by playing this game, that ironically resembles a pachinko machine.

Ridiculous story, repetitive gameplay, boring mechanisms and force to paying money are enough reasons to stay away from this game.

Metal Gear Survive reveals itself to be a decent title if you're willing to forgive the litany of things it does wrong. The concept is solid, even if the characters can't deliver the tale appropriately. The sneaking and quick item construction elements slightly make up for a weak combat system that makes killing Wanderers a chore. The base-building and crafting is fine, but the other survival elements are overdone to the point of tedium. It isn't a great survival game, and it's not something that Metal Gear fans would flock to, making it a title that can be best described as niche.

Fans of survival games may like the Metal Gear Survive for it's good action and stealth elements. But for those that loved Kojima's Metal Gear games Metal Gear Survive won't offer anything interesting.
