A delightful co-op action RPG that's sadly stymied by its insistence on making it hard to play together.

From the creators of Rogue Legacy, Full Metal Furies is a challenging co-op game that seamlessly ties together the brawler and puzzle genres while also telling a humorous story.

It's far from perfect but hits so many of the right notes that it's easy to ignore those faults in the midst of gameplay. Plus, with so much interesting things to do, it's guaranteed to hold your interest for a long time to come.

Full Metal Furies surprised me in just how diverse the gameplay could get in a brawler/shooter hybrid. Some experiments don't come off, but upgrades change character play styles nicely and the game is a joy to play with others.  The teething problems that online play is suffering do make it hard to recommend for those with online co-op in mind, but once it's all fixed or if you plan to play locally, Full Metal Furies is a decent way to spend a couple of evenings worth of co-op brawling action.

An intense and gorgeous brawler from the creators of Rogue Legacy. Its velocity and variety are the keys to a fresh cooperative game with friends.

Aside from the annoying lack of matchmaking, Full Metal Furies' excellent co-op gameplay, charming visuals, and kickass score make it more than worth your time.

Despite the color shields implemented in singleplayer mode, I still enjoyed Full Metal Furies. The written dialogue between characters is good for a chuckle and keeps things lighthearted amidst the chaos.

Full Metal Furies proves that Cellar Door Games is an impressively talented studio capable of producing quality games that can set new standards in some ways. We wish more developers would invest such considerable effort into this sort of puzzle design in action games, and coupling that with the deep RPG systems, punchy gameplay and memorable writing makes for an experience that no Switch owner will want to be without. Cellar Door Games has outdone itself with Full Metal Furies and we can't recommend this release enough; put in the time, and you'll find this is much more than just another beat ‘em up.

Full Metal Furies is a colorful remix of classic styles, decorated with daring modernity, which is almost excellent in nearly all its sections. Absolutely enjoyable for new players, and nostalgic. Cellar Door Games has done it again.

Most of its effectiveness lies on the co-op component, which makes the experience very fun and involving thanks to its robust combat system and humorous plot. While the solo experience is properly balanced, it's on its co-op component that Full Metal Furies really stands out and nobody should forego their chance to get their hands on this.

Quite possibly the best beat 'em up RPG hybrid out there to date.

Definitely a new type of brawler full of fresh ideas. One of the best coop games, which is also fully enjoyable if you play solo.

Full Metal Furies can be fun with friends, but then again, what isn't? With some enemies becoming annoying and forcing a play style, compounded with visuals that have player-characters being a bit too small, playing this can be slightly irritating. At best, it is on the same level as something like Castle Crashers - not Scott Pilgrim VS The World: The Game. Expect a somewhat shallow guilty pleasure that has more pros than cons, but is otherwise forgettable.

Full Metal Furies works best as a local multiplayer game, but the developer makes a solid attempt at serving more common play styles by offering up a suitable online experience and a competent single-player alternative. This game is a much harder sell if you're only ever going to play it by yourself, but it's easy one if you have a few friends that want to mess around in a bright and lovely world with cute characters and a solid brawler with some light RPG upgrades.

Full Metal Furies is a demanding game from the great minds behind Rogue Legacy, merging RPG and brawler elements into one hell of package. A must-have for everyone on either Xbox One or PC, but we'd recommend playing it with friends or online.

Full Metal Furies is an incredibly enjoyable party game to play locally or online. It is more than worth a $20 investment for the estimated 15-20 hours of gameplay to finish the story your first time through.
