God of War

God of War is a modern masterpiece and one of the best games to grace the Playstation 4 library. It’s a sweeping tale of loss and new beginnings and one that echoes the nature of the God of War series. With a stunning soundtrack and many gameplay systems to sink your teeth into, there’s something here for everyone and a game that will keep you engrossed for many hours.
Again though, we really are splitting hairs because this is a near flawless game.
This is the first time in years it’s felt like one of these unfathomably expensive blockbusters is putting its weight into moving that field in a different direction rather than riffing on one of its standardized formulas, and it’s every bit as jolting as that Hydra fight was 13 years ago.
The combat is incredibly fun, and when you get the hang of it, looks really cool to boot. Executions get very repetitive though, usually a single animation or two per enemy type. But you can use them as much or as little as you please. Sending enemies flying is a lot of fun and makes you feel Krato’s incredible strength.
God of War goes above and beyond with its storytelling and gameplay to not only become the game of the year, but quite possibly the best PS4 exclusive to date.
God of War is a masterpiece. It's bold, ambitious and powerful. God of War is not only a Game of the Year Contender but a game that will stand among other classics.
Where most games excel in one single area, God of War manages to deliver on every front, providing players with one of the best experiences we've seen so far this generation.
God of War is an epic reboot of an epic franchise and shows you how a reboot of a franchise should be handled. And in rebooting the franchise Santa Monica Studio’s possibly created one of the best games the PlayStation 4 has to offer in this console generation. The plot, combat, graphics, and sound all come together perfectly to create one of the best gaming experiences of 2018. And it proves that the single-player experience is still alive and well in the year of battle royal and multiplayer only games. There were so many aspects of the game and story I had to leave out due to spoilers and not wanting to make the review too lengthy, so hopefully, this review didn’t come out too disjointed.
Whether you are a God of War veteran or a newcomer to the series, the 2018 rebirth is an unmissable PS4 exclusive that might even convince the most die-hard Xbox fans to pick up Sony's console.
