Discarding its RPG systems along the way, NT proves to be a formidable fighting game though some of its crucial pillars make it crumble a bit.

Dissidia NT for PS4 is a game that loses itself in its attempt to be different. It is full of fan service and this aspect is very well done, but gameplay wise the game tends to be chaotic, disorganized and confusing. At times, when everything works out, Dissidia NT can be a really great experience, and those times show you the potential this game had if it didn't try to be so crazy and unique.

For any Final Fantasy fan, Dissidia NT has plenty to offer, with an array of the series' best loved characters, and plenty of chaotic combat to pit them in. Unfortunately the lack of definition to those encounters, messy UI, convoluted single player progression, and a barebones selection of modes saps a good chunk of the fun away.

This succeeds as a collection of fun Final Fantasy characters, music, and moments. However, the core multiplayer experience is severely lacking in every respect

I had fun with it, but I wasn't blown away by it, and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is an excellent example of why nostalgia is never a substitute for proper gameplay.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a disappointment for a fan of the series, taking away great RPG mode and replacing it with chaotic 3v3 battles. It's still playable, but not without some kind of regret. New players will appreciate good battle system, if only they can manage the chaos.

As a person who enjoys the stories and characters of the Final Fantasy franchise, I'm immediately more likely to be invested in Dissidia NT and what it's offering me. However, that's not enough; I need to love these characters and this complicated and opaque game type, and truly enjoying the heart of it isn't really possible for me.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT tries to spin too many plates at once. As a team-based arena combat game, it creates some interesting battles but comes up short against the depth and accessibility of something like Overwatch. As a fighting game, it fails to find a balance between the challenging execution of a Street Fighter and the pick-up-and-play chaos of a Super Smash Bros. And as Final Fantasy fan service, it ticks some boxes but has some glaring omissions in its lineup and surrounding features. Even those who consider themselves Final Fantasy completionists aren't going to have enough story content to keep them playing for long. That's frustrating, because when its various parts all come together in harmony it is a fun, unique team fighting game.

The third entry in the Dissidia franchise is a good one and fans of the franchise shouldn't miss out on this entry. With a massive roster of characters and entertaining combat, the core Dissidia mechanics are safe and sound. It's just a shame that this entry feels so bare bones, not only with its lack of game modes but in its story execution.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT should be a celebration of the series as a whole and instead makes the franchise feel washed up. Character interactions are nice and graphics are definitely pretty, but mechanically the game feels behinds its competition and far more frustrating. Only recommended for the most hardcore of Final Fantasy fans, but even then, no local multiplayer? What's the point?

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT finally brings Square Enix's handheld “what if” franchise to the big screen, and the results are pretty fantastic for those who love chaotic, high-energy combat scenarios. Unfortunately, the game can be challenging to get the hang of due to a range of factors including class differences and controls, and there's not much to do for those who prefer their gaming sessions solo. Still, for players who do click with this third Dissidia chapter, it's a heck of an experience.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a port of a brilliant arcade game mired down by its lack of content and modern expectations of what console fighting games should and should not have. I love the fight… I just hate what came with it.

Dissidia is undeniably attractive and enjoyable to play. However, the steep learning curve and amount of time needed to master makes it a fighter that’s not for the faint of heart.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is the very definition of a mixed, middling experience, though when its combat shines it produces real magic with enormous potential.

In Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, the characters of Final Fantasy are once again brought together in the ultimate fight between good and evil, but an overly complicated play scheme and other decisions make for a game that you fight against, not a fighting game.

Square-Enix and Team Ninja have brought its popular arcade-fighter Dissidia Final Fantasy to the home platform, but it unfortunately isn't able to live up to the series it seeks to celebrate.

There's no doubt in my mind that most Final Fantasy fans will appreciate the attention to detail in regards to every character, map, costume, and weapon. I believe that Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has the potential to grow its audience if the developers evolve the game based on community feedback. Right now I think it's a bit bare bones compared to other fighters on the market, but if you're looking for a new, quirky competitive fighter to get into, you may enjoy Dissidia Final Fantasy NT a lot more than you expect.

Dissidia NT is fun to play, but it could use a few tweaks that could easily come as low-effort updates along with its existing premium DLC. More modes, some UI tweaks, and combat flow upgrades would go a long way.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT its a really chaotic and entertaining combat game. Albeit it has notorious flaws like reduced and limited game modes, fluctuating online performance and kinda broken gameplay physics and mechanics, its a game that will fascinate all those players that give ot a chance and, specially those who are fans of the Final Fantasy series.
