Overall this game is wonderful. It screams play me and don't quit till it's over. I couldn't stop playing even after I beat the game. I must have completed this game over 12 times in row the first night I played it and even played some more the next day. I finally did complete the final trophy needed for the platinum but this game wasn't deleted off my PS4 afterwards because of just how much wholesome fun it is.

It never once overstays its welcome, and for however long it takes you to beat it, it’s a genuine blast. You just can’t help but wish there was a little bit more of it

Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is a short but charming game on Nintendo Switch that you're going to get a kick out of playing. The game's pixel art style and its music will send you back to an old-school era, with the refinements you'd expect from a 21st-century game. While you can play the game docked on the big screen, I think it plays and feels better when enjoyed in handheld mode, and since it's only 20 levels long, it's the perfect game for you to play on the go. I have no real complaints about the game other than I wish there were more levels to play, so hopefully the team works on a sequel!

Sigi – A Fart for Melusina is a fun pixel-art style indie platformer with an emphasis on speedrunning. The controls are solid and the game contains a lot of childish fart-joke level of humour. What’s not to like! The game itself may not take you longer than around 30 minutes to complete on your first go. However, if you’re trying to get all trophies then expect that time to increase as you learn each of the 16 levels layouts (for secrets) and master taking down the bosses in as little time as possible.

By no means is Sigi a perfect or even great platformer, but given its humble aspirations (and price) it’s a pretty decent experience from start to finish. There’s some weapon variety, surprises, and the elements it borrows from a few different series are smart but never derivative. If you’re feeling in the mood for a quick and satisfying bite of greasy video game fast food Sigi is a decent guilty pleasure.

As with most traditional platformers, there isn’t much of a story here. You play as a knight who hears a beautiful mermaid singing. Before you can talk to her, she swims off. You spend the rest of your adventure chasing after her. It isn’t much of a driving factor, but one isn’t needed because the primary focus is on gameplay.

Overall is Sigi – A Fart for Melusina a good game, well that's debatable. It's easy with some tougher bosses and can be completed quickly. That being said $5 on the eShop, so that does dictate what you are getting. If you are looking for a Ghosts 'n Goblins like (although way less difficult), then this could be worth your $5.

But if you were even vaguely interested in this game, I'd recommend it. It's fun to play and not a huge commitment, so you can indulge in a little platforming for an hour.

Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is a fun, funny and addictive game, but not without several issues that sometimes worsen the experience. Its aesthetics and soundtrack are so well-made that it seems like the developers "forgot" to work on other important aspects. If the game had more worlds or stages and the bosses were more balanced, maybe it could become one of the best indie games of the year.

recommend this game to anyone, yet at the price of five bucks I can’t say that you’re not getting your money’s worth. Sometimes you really do get what you paid for.

Sigi - A Fart For Melusina is a budget title. Its price is a fair entry point and probably worth it for those looking to get a quick retro fix for their nostalgia cravings. There's no hating on $4.99 for 20 levels. Disregarding its price, it's boils down to the quality of the game. Ultimately, it's fun in a very clumsy way. However, you may want to put that money towards another game.

There is some enjoyment to be had in Sigi – A Fart for Melusina, but that fun quickly dissipates when you begin to feel like an unstoppable force in every level, including boss stages. Searching for hidden caves and grabbing a few hard to reach items definitely adds entertainment value, but the brief 20 level experience is made even shorter by a serious lack of truly fulfilling gameplay.

Imagine, for a brief, painful moment that Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is an actual fart. What kind of fart would it be? Luckily, it's not one of those disgusting, watery-ones - sadly, it's not one of those glorious, last-night-I-ate-like-a-bison, volume turned-to-11 ones either. This generic action-platformer is just a boring, scentless, barely heard fart… and not even a funny one.

The absolute bare minimum of effort was put into Sigi – A Fart of Melusina. The game is uninspired, and there are countless other platformers that would be a better use of your time.

Some might admire the fact that Sigi doesn't linger, but with a difficulty level that stays low and doesn't ramp up until the very last boss fight, there just won't be enough here for most players to justify a purchase.
