Into The Breach is a fantastic example of how you can play around with an established genre. Taking turn-based strategy and letting you see what is about to happen changes everything about what would normally play out. The feeling of intellectual superiority you feel when you outsmart the aliens is incredible and will keep you playing through every loss you will experience. Best of all the bite-size maps fit onto the Switch so perfectly that the idea of playing it on a PC is absurd. This is a game made for a handheld, and damn is it good.

Into the Breach sticks with you even when you're not playing it. You rewind every step you'd made thinking about differents solutions while you reset once more the time line thinking "this time will be the good one". Spoiler: "it won't"

Into the Breach borrows confidently from FTL's successes, but differentiates itself as a tight, highly replayable tactics game built around avoiding non-combatant casualties and collateral damage.

Into the Breach is brilliant in how it approaches the strategy game genre. By giving the player all the information they need, it's easy to see where exactly you went wrong, and what you could've done to prevent it.

Into The Breach is a brutal, uncompromising game of making hard decisions and living with your mistakes, but the short length of battles and endless variety of playthroughs makes for an extremely addictive experience. Though the graphics are nothing special, the gameplay is some of the very best you'll find in the strategy genre on the Switch, and we can easily recommend this to anybody who's looking for an in-depth game that'll make you think. Into The Breach feels right at home on the Switch, and whether you play more at home or on the go, you're more than likely to get plenty of value out of this release.

Into The Breach is a brilliant title, a fun, long-lived and easy-to-depend turn-based strategy. After completing the main campaign several times - at different difficulty levels and with the most disparate teams - we still feel the need to return to collect insectoids, to unlock all the achievements and discover the secrets of a game that certainly has a lot to show even after the end credits.

Not like other SLG, pushing is much more important than damage in Into the Breach. Your strategies must change a lot to fit the new rules, which makes the game interesting and unique. Besides, you can find roguelike elements, a great variety of mechs, and challenging enemies in it too. It is definitely one of the biggest surprise you can get these days.

Into the Breach provides the same satisfaction on a smaller scale. It’s turn-based tactics distilled, a bite-sized version that still manages to have deep and complicated combat systems to discover within its otherwise-limited scope. Turns out, that’s exactly what I want.
