Deiland is a must-have indie release on PlayStation 4. It's colorful, charming and relaxing, with plenty of things to do in this sandbox-style release. The game is fun, the graphics are polished and the music perfectly fits the overall experience. Arco and the game will probably remind you of The Little Prince, which definitely influenced the development team, so if you're a fan of it then this one will definitely charm its way into your collection.

Deiland is an adorable little farming simulator which will appeal to lovers of games such as Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley. The game does have it's fair share of monotonous grinding/farming for resources so you can sell them for money in order to buy more things – so whether you'll like it will probably come down to if you like simulation games like this. Other than the aforementioned titles, Deiland is a great farming simulator on the PS4 which is accessible by people of all ages as there isn't anything too difficult involved.

Deiland is a fun and colorful indie release that is very relaxing to play. Even with the enemies that attack you every now and then, the overall experience is very Zen-like, as you'll be spending time chopping some wood, breaking rocks to get stones and minerals, fishing at the pond, harvesting your crops, picking up wild berries, taking on quests. It's a great effort from Chibig, and I look forward to seeing what the team does next.

Deiland is worth it. If you like relaxing experiences, do it. If you like moving around a farm and growing crops without worry for much else, this has you covered. If you like things closer to Rune Factory or Popolocrois, this may not quite be for you but I would suggest taking a look anyways as while the combat and the RPG may not be on the same levels, it’s fun. So with anywhere between ten to twenty hours of relaxation? This little planet is more than worth your time!

Overall this isn’t a perfect game but there are tiny and intricate details that I really find unique and whimsical. I like the fact that you are able to zoom out of the planet and do a full rotation. This is quite helpful in mushroom hunting and this also helps in strategically landing meteorites that will help you collect Crystals and foreign seeds. I liked looking at my planet from this view because I can see the progress that I am making. The fauna and trees scattered about to look like pimples on someone’s face but not gross at all. I loved the fact that there is a night/day cycle, weather changes that you can take advantage of an unlimited inventory storage. Definitely not for everyone, but players that need a casual, calm, take-your-time gameplay then this is absolutely for you.

Without telling anything really new or offering fully convincing gameplay mechanics, Deiland proves to be a fun and carefree "game curtain", devoid of a challenge worthy of the name.

Deiland tries to play many genres and although she doesn't stand out in many of them, she does manage to become a simple and fun adventure. If your thing is to tend a garden and go on adventures every few days, Deiland is for you, but those who are looking for a survival challenge will not find it.

As a chilled, low-stress experience that strikes the right blend of cuteness and charm, Deiland certainly delivers, even though it lacks the depth and complexity of sandbox games that appeal to an older audience. Yes, there are a few bugs, but they don't get in the way of the magical fun on offer.

Could it have been bigger? Yes. Could it have had more to it? Indubitably. But for what it is, Deiland is a nice diversion from heavier experiences in the genre, and that may well have been what the developers were aiming for.

If you want a slow-moving, brick-by-brick resource gathering sim, then this might be yours. But if you're looking for something with deep complexity, endless creative options and rich world-building, you should probably look elsewhere.

Harvest Moon on a much smaller scale and with plenty of bugs. It is relaxing, but only until you encounter one of more serious technical problems.
