It's a bit of shame because underneath it all and away from the uncompromising difficulty, there is a very nice, well crafted and novel platform title here, that in between difficulty spikes is actually enjoyable and rewarding to play.

The visuals are charming and there is lots of opportunity to try different power-ups and items to see how they impact how you play. Plus, you can play through split-screen with a friend, which is a nice addition. This is a unique game that is definitely worth sinking some hours into to completely enjoy all that it has to offer.

DragoDino is a mostly solid platforming experience that was most enjoyable in short bursts, ala one level a night.

When they did load, the levels themselves offered little to no joy, at all, despite the cute protagonists, DragoDino is shallow and sadly cannot live up to the visual style.

DragoDino seems to be the game best suited for children. It's not demanding, but it's cute and can be fun. For a couple of bucks we get around 6 hours of gameplay in return. It's a good price for a bit of bad parenting and leaving a kid alone with the game.

Overall, DragoDino is hardly a bad game but I’d say people need to be careful in their decision to get it, making sure it’s for them. In many ways its bright and colorful animated looks don’t naturally pair with its level of difficulty, meaning more casual players who could like the style could find it too punishing and people who love a meaty challenge may overlook it because it “looks” like it would be simpler. This, paired with the load times and tough continue system, make it more of an acquired taste even though it has its merits in terms of gameplay.
