My only drawback, however, is that it is a repetitive game and overtime you will be able to even predict during dungeon and boss fights. It’s a game that gets easy as you keep going. However, despite this, it’s still a game I’ll be willing to play again soon with a different buddy.

While Wizard of Legend will be too difficult for some, but for those who love the Rogue-lite genre and enjoy a challenge it is definitely in the upper echelons. Consistently challenging but impossible to put down is certainly a cliche, but it's a perfect description of this game.

There really isn't much I can fault Wizard of Legend for overall. It's apparent that Contingent99 knows what they are doing, and they've confirmed that there is post-launch content on the way as well, so be sure to give these two gentlemen an honest shot, as you may end up as pleasantly surprised as I was, if not more so.

Wizard of Legend is a phenomenally fun roguelike that succeeds in all the areas it needs to. Underneath a graphically pleasing veneer sits a meticulously crafted game with a fun combat system and intricate class building. Contingent99 really did something special here.

A solid but somewhat easy rogue-lite dungeon crawler where the player can cast a variety of spells and has a somewhat reasonable challenge. It’s a rogue-lite where the player can win.

Once you’re in a groove, you can spend hours chasing the perfect playthrough, combining items and spells and tackling the dungeons. Handily, the game keeps track of how many runs you’ve attempted, which, when you reach triple digits, is a lovely metric for how addictive the game can be.

Wizard of Legend is a surprisingly deep game despite its simple premise, fans of dungeon crawlers, roguelikes or just anyone in the market for a fun couch co-op game should definitely check out Contigent99 debut title.

Wizard of Legend is a fun, action-packed roguelike with massive dungeons and plenty of loot to collect. Along with the regular enemies, you will also run into deadly bosses, so be ready to take on them with the best spell cards at your disposal. There's a Platinum trophy for you if you persevere, with your first trophy unlock for completing the tutorial, and then you need to defeat each of the bosses, unlock the many arcana and relics in the game, and there's even a speedrun trophy for completing the Chaos Trials in 30 minutes, so good luck with that!

Wizard of Legend is a great roguelike with a different feel form the other ones I have played. The game doesn't do a lot of hand-holding and because everything is procedurally generated it can make it quite difficult to master. But if you figure out how to maximize the game's loop then you are in for a treat. Be sure to check this one out!

Wizard of Legend is a welcome addition to the library of procedurally generated roguelikes, offering players a challenging arena-based dungeon crawler with unforgiving combat and a vast number of abilities to choose from. Occasional performance niggles can ruin the experience, but they are few and far between.

Wizard of Legend is a satisfying and thoroughly challenging roguelike with plenty of arcana to discover, relics to purchase, and several ways to help players feel as though they're customizing the game to make it totally theirs.

At the end of the day, I couldn't quite become the Avatar I wanted, choosing only to specialize in lightning and air spells, and zapping my enemies to death. Still, Wizard of Legend succeeds in creating a setting that's just full of so much mystery and awe.

As a roguelike title, Wizard of Legend provides a challenging experience, but that is why I enjoy playing it. You aren't meant to immediately be able to blast your way through the entirety of the game right away. Progression is the key to varying the experience, as well as not only making it slightly easier for consequent attempts. Experimenting with the different spells provides you better insight into what type of play style works best for you. The inclusion of a co-op, even if it's only local is a nice touch.

There are so many great indie roguelites that it's almost becoming obscene. But that doesn't change the fact that Wizard of Legend is simply great fun, with an awesome couch co-op mode, and loads of replay value. Its difficulty can spike at odd times, and some spells seem utterly useless. But beyond that, there's just a lot of fireball hurling mayhem to be had as you try to pass the trials.

Although the combat on Wizard of Legend is quite satisfactory, the limited procedural capability hurts the replay factor and part of the experience. Despite the problems, there is a certain impulse that makes us persist and seek small achievements, little by little, even after the most frustrating defeats.

Wizard of Legend may not be your all-time favorite roguelike dungeon crawler, but it's very good at what it does. The fast-paced, action-oriented angle is exciting, and the addition of co-op makes the game as fun as solo runs. The item system suffers from a lack of descriptions until it's too late, but the many combinations you can conjure up give the game some replayability. Both genre fans and newbies will like Wizard of Legend.

Wizard of Legend is one of those rare titles where it's easy to come back to it at any time. The game, for having so few bosses and levels, never begins to feel dull or repetitive. There's tons of variety in equipment and spell loadouts, and the dungeon changes enough each time that it never really starts to feel stale. It would be nice if there was a little more variety in the stages offered, but there are enough unique combinations that each adventure is always fresh and exciting.
