Call of Duty Black Ops 4 isn't the best in the series, but it's solid enough to justify it's sequel monicker. Blackout is such an exhilarating take on the Battle Royale genre that it's hard to not recommend it to even casual fans. Zombies is engaging and fun, especially with its story, but I wish it took more liberties with its maps. Multiplayer is great for veteran Call of Duty players, but offers little to no innovation over previous entries in the series.

Black Ops 4 brings a lot of changes to the series. Whether or not they're good changes is a personal choice. I found them mostly great changes. I like the promotion of teamwork. Making specialists that synergize with each other to get you to work as a team takes the game to another level altogether. While its not all praise, the game does have some downfalls. The maps and servers need some work, but overall the game plays amazingly well. The game is highly optimized for performance, with the exception of the low 20Hz tick rate. I expect great things to come for Black Ops 4!

One thing is for certain, Black Ops 4 is easily the best multiplayer experience we have seen from the franchise to date.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 manages easily to compensate the missing singleplayer campaign with lots of multiplayer goodness and a battle royale mode that shouldn't be afraid of fortnite or pubg. The Class Campaigns could be better and some of the recycled elements of the previous games aren't that well integrated but besides that fans of the series will get an amazing multiplayer package with a great zombie mode on top of it all.

Call of Duty works best when it throws a diversity of experiences at you. The multiplayer game accomplishes this with the constant duels between the Specialists. The Zombies experience will keep you trying to survive for just one more round. And Blackout could provide an endless set of crazy and fun experiences.

Black Ops 4 feels like one of the strongest Call of Duty entries to come along in years. Despite not having a solo campaign or some of the past games' more bombastic mechanics, Treyarch has proved the adage that "less is more." And this game's "less" is good enough to keep me waiting around for "more."

Black Ops 4 brings the fun and dares to change. There might not be a campaign, but its replacement called Blackout is so much fun to play. Even if Battle Royale isn't your thing, you can still find enjoyment in the revamped Zombies and the multiplayer modes.

Black Ops 4 is the best entry to the series from a long time. So many changes in multiplayer mode that added new perspective to the game, and still maintains COD identity. Zombie mode and its new story and content that gives zombie mode fans so much content, entertaining Blackout mode that takes advantage of the series strengths to make a unique experience, all of that make Black Ops 4 the best COD lately. For now the main two issues are removing the traditional story mode and DLC system.

Black Ops 4 breathes new life into the series by introducing new gameplay elements and modes. And bringing back many many of things we know and love from the series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a pleasant surprise. While it's lacking in any major offering for those wanting a campaign to play through, everything else is refined and iterated on in meaningful ways. Blackout is a blast, traditional multiplayer is as good as it's been in years, and Zombies is insanity in all the right ways.

There's no denying Call of Duty is a well put together AAA game. In my first few hours with Call of Duty Black Ops 4, the most consistent aspect was how slick everything feels, exuding quality all over the place like a big ol' quality hose.

In Blackout, Treyarch has proved the series can still be agile and forward-thinking, while smart changes to Zombies and multiplayer show there's still plenty of life in these old bones.

Make no mistake, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a polished effort. If you can stomach its ridiculous day one patch, lack of single-player, and its high price, you'll be treated to one of the better multiplayer experiences in recent memory.
