In the end, Laser League's value really depends on how popular it ends up being. On release it didn't seem like an overwhelming number of people purchased or at least matchmaking is not as fast as it could be, making it a potential concern. From there, depending on how many adopt it, this could be a fighting game situation where there is a massive difference in skill between players. Despite the potential negatives, Laser League is certainly fun if you're into the metagame or just like the idea of outplaying others. While it's too soon to say where Laser League will fall, it's probably better to get in on the ground floor than spending the next couple of weeks playing catch up.

This high stakes laser light show by no means is perfect, but it is a blast and one hell of a way to kill an evening online or locally.

Laser League is a game that can be picked up and enjoyed by everyone, but it’s a shame that it seems to have died on arrival. Finding a full game seems nigh impossible unless you round a group of friends together but selling them on the idea of a game that requires 4-6 of you to be on to get the most out of is difficult too. It’s a solid game by developers Roll7 that sadly hasn’t caught fire, and if more people were willing to check this out I think they’d be pleasantly surprised just by how enjoyable it can be.

Laser League isn’t a revolution for the genre, but it deserves plenty of credit for not just cynically rehashing the successes of its forebears and betting on a more inventive central gameplay loop.

The lack of players might be its undoing, but Laser League is well worth looking into if you're a fan of arena style multiplayer titles.

Laser League is easy to play but hard to master. Despite some online matching problem, it has great potential.

What's there is good and fun, but it's the few things that aren't there that keep it from being a truly great phenomenon.

This game lets us rediscover the pleisure of enjoying ourselves plonging into a lively competition, thanks to ripetitive and easy techniques besides many different tactics, so as to keep us really concentrated, almost hypnotised. It will warm up the heart of those who are longing to find again a local multiplayer game, whose contents are undoubtfully beautiful.

When you find yourself in the zone, Laser League is a joy to play. Controls are as straightforward as they come and the game's rules are easy to follow, meaning anyone can pick up a pad and join in. However, the depth that comes with the various character classes, their abilities, and power ups is surprising. This is classic "easy to learn, difficult to master" territory, in other words, and whether you're playing online or offline, it can be excellent fun with a few friends. Ultimately, this is the sort of game that lives or dies on the strength of its player count, and we sincerely hope it remains healthy. Aside from the occasional bout of lag, fairly limited content, and one or two disappointing omissions, this is a unique multiplayer title that deserves your attention.

Laser League is delightfully chaotic. It's easy to grasp just by looking at it, but for those who need a few pointers, there's a robust tutorial system, as well as a Playbook mode that helpfully explains the game's more nuanced elements, like the individual classes and power-ups. It's a game that gets more intense with more players, which is why 3v3 online speaks particularly well to me. But it's just as easy to set up local multiplayer, along with bots of varying skill levels.

Laser League is a deceptively simple competitive game. The controls are incredibly straightforward, but that is offset by the sheer amount of things needed to account for at any point in the match. Laser walls and players are constantly moving around the map in various patterns and at variable speeds. There may be a limited appeal if you never plan to play online, as the progression system is tied to online play, but this is a game not to be missed by fans of competitive games. And maybe Roll7 can throw in a colorblind option in the near future? Pretty please?

Laser League presents a simple but original idea done incredibly well, and I hope that its player base stays strong. With its low price point and accessible gameplay, if you're into your competitive games, then you should give this one a shot.

Laser League is fun arena-based action game where you are tasked with eliminating the opposing team with lasers. This is a great way to spend a quality couch co-op time with a group of skilled friends. Laser League looks great and plays nice, but lacks playerbase.
