Above all else, Forgotton Anne is a wonderful game that is more focused on the story than groundbreaking gameplay. And in this case, I am perfectly fine with that. The story does have some twists and turns that you might see coming, yet your decision making makes these story aspects intriguing and emotional.

To conclude, I found this game to be a breath of fresh air. It's intricate storyline, puzzle solving and dynamic environment kept me interested from start to finish. I give this game a 9 for it was almost a masterpiece, but hopefully in future updates they can fix those small bugs.
Despite Forgotton Anne failing to stand out in any particular area, it’s far from a bad game. At its best and worst, it’s a mediocre story game good for a few hours of playtime. If you’re a diehard fan of steampunk or visual novels, you can probably find some value in it. However, there are certainly better story-driven games to check out.
This is one of the best 2D adventure games I've played in a long time. We play as Anne, a forgotling, forgotten child who's now grown up. We uncover the truth behind the city, the power and the Man to eventually make the final choice.

Forgotton Anne is a game that will make us fall in love with the visuals and will attract us with his plot and narrative. Join Anne in Forgotten Lands in this precious adventure while we try to do what we think is right to return home. Despite the small problem with control, the other areas are brilliants and make Anne's adventure a game that everyone should give a chance.

Don’t let that last statement deter you though, as I still adore this game. The story and characters are wonderful, and the music is absolutely breathtaking. Normally with games like this you only get about three to four hours of gameplay, but this game managed to rack up a full seven hours for me to beat. I still have the urge to go back and play it again just to get the other 14 or so achievements that I missed. At $19.99 this game is a must buy for anyone who loves a good story with some dark and soul-crushing undertones.

Forgotton Anne hits the right spot in many aspects. With a very well-developed narrative, simple gameplay mechanics, it's attractive to any kind of player. Forgotton Anne is a charming little adventure, with an interesting, and good-looking, hand painted world that's fun to live on for the eight or so hours that this will last. Unfortunately, the story never really manages to become as emotional and engrossing as it thinks it is, and the rest of the experience, the actual jumping and puzzle-solving, feels more like useless baggage.
Throughline Games really ought to be applauded; Forgotton Anne is something rather special. If this is the calibre of the studio's first game, I really can't wait to see what else it comes up with.
Forgotton Anne has more story than many games three times the price. It's a journey worth taking and a name worth remembering.
