It functions both as a broadly traditional but significantly less rigid MMO and as a 'lost' Elder Scrolls. There's much I wish it did better, but I can't fail to be drawn in by the sheer substance of it.

As it stands, I still believe this is a must for those that wish to have a bit more from the game, but those who do not already own Elder Scrolls Online would perhaps be more suited to wait for a sale or perhaps a friend or two to experience the game with.

Summerset has a tough challenge to follow in the footsteps of Morrowind. But the expansion delivers with an exciting storyline, an interesting new order to join, loads of new content and a beautiful island. We only hoped the island would be bigger.

Elder Scrolls Online has always had a superior questing system than most other MMO’s.

There's still a significant player population in ESO, and if you're an Elder Scrolls fan, or just looking to get into a game you can play for a while, Summerset is a good fit for you.

Mages, Psijics, foes from under the sea and Daedric Princes all make Summerset a place any Elder Scrolls enthusiast should visit. Come closer, five-claw.

Summerset is the best evolution that The Elder Scrolls Online could have. An expansion that brings more personality to the game, with lots of quality content and made for both veterans and newcomers. Summerset is the best thing that has happened to TESO by far.

Summerset is a very comprehensive chunk of DLC. The storyline is really satisfying and the new zone is by far Zenimax Online’s best work. All the other inclusions easily justify the price of this content. If Summerset is any indication as to the quality of future content, then the future is looking very bright for this MMO.

The generically beautiful Summerset is on the smaller side in terms of overall new additions to The Elder Scrolls Online, but even after completing the majority of the side quests and all of the main storyline I feel compelled to go back. The storytelling continues to improve on last year's excellent Morrowind expansion, with Zenimax Online not shying away from some of the darkest sides of Tamriel. While the Psijic Order quest line has its boring bits, the down-to-earth, human story makes putting up with the repetitive quests worth the hassle. The new jewelry crafting profession, on the other hand, is far too time-consuming to be practical without spending money at the Crown Shop.

Fun by yourself and with others too, Summerset dosen't add much to the formula but will entertain for all of its thirty hours or so.

For those who have been playing The Elder Scrolls Online consistently, Summerset is only a natural progression to continue with, but for people who have taken a break and are looking for an excuse to get back in the game or people who have been curious to start, this is a great place to resume or start an adventure.

The Elder Scrolls Online will never feel like a proper Elder Scrolls game for many people who flock to it, but while we wait for whatever comes after Skyrim, it's a damn fine way of passing the time.

The Summerset expansion adds more interesting hours to TESO, offering a story that takes about 40 hours to finish with some side quests. The story may be the best in expansion. Psijic Order plays a big role in this expansion and lets you open a new skill tree with new time control skills, if you have not tried the game before then this is the time to try it out.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset does a good job of giving everyone something to be excited for. Crafters have jewelry, solo players have more of the usual things, guilds get a new trial to grind and world event chasers have a new challenge and world bosses. This, plus the beautiful world of Summerset make for a fantastic experience. Sure, the trial could be harder and some other minor things but overall this is a solid expansion that will make many happy.

Summerset makes an exemplary expansion for MMO game. It is a beautiful, vast and, what's most important, interesting DLC.

Summerset offers a good sized chunk of content, at a relatively fair and attractive price point. It may not be as grand as some of its competitor's expansions, but it is still one of the most enjoyable regions in the game. At the low upgrade price it's hard to feel shortchanged here.

All in all, The Elder Scrolls Online's Summerset expansion is yet another worthy addition to the MMO. Thanks to its ability to expand the lore in meaningful ways in this already super crowded game, let us all explore a breathtaking new world, and add great new side content, Summerset is another achievement for the game.
