Legendary Eleven is a satisfying nostalgic football game that brings you back some of your best memories of playing football games many years ago. Of course there are problems like bugs, lacks of variety in gameplay and weak servers, but finally it is a game that absolutely worth to try. If you like to come back to good old days with tons of nostalgic feelings, give Legendry Eleven a try.

Legendary Eleven is a game that I’ve messed around with, permitting the opportunity to help myself to remember a period before the giant kind of the football franchise world assumed control over my gaming life.

Legendary Eleven offers a fun and fluid arcade footballing experience, but a lack of depth within its game modes and a poor AI makes it one that you shouldn’t expect to find yourself completely invested in. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my time with the game and the local multiplayer matches were a blast, but with no online matchmaking there was little else for me to do once I’d cleared all of the game’s cups and Legendary matches. Still, those looking for a quick fix of old-school footballing action will certainly appreciate what Legendary Eleven offers and there’s definitely fun to be had – especially if you get a group of friends together to play it. Just expect the experience to be a short-lived one that you probably won’t spend too much time with when alone.

Even though Legendary Eleven is essentially a very basic take on soccer, its gameplay is easy to pick up and play and the visuals on display will be appealing for those looking for an arcade-style soccer game.

It’s not meant to be for hardcore football gamers. There isn’t going to be a Legendary Eleven esports tournament anytime soon but the game is fully aware of this. It’s not really trying to be anything other than what it is and that’s hugely important when considering picking this one up. It’s local multiplayer is fun and frantic, so long as you don’t play with a person who was comparing it to FIFA every five seconds like I did.

With so few football games on Switch, Legendary Eleven might be tempting, but be prepared for a scruffy 0-0 draw rather than a 5-4 thriller. There are some highlights that impress, but the game's many technical flaws, lack of depth and unbalanced gameplay will most likely cause you yearn for something more refined and exciting. It really is a game of two halves.

Legendary Eleven is a poor excuse for a football game. It lacks any fun that was promised with cartoony graphics and throwback to golden era of '70s football.

Legendary Eleven just kind of feels and looks like a fuzzy drawing of EA's FIFA games. It's passable at best, but is off enough to not be worthwhile if you're seeking out some good old-fashioned arcadey soccer on your Switch. The only hope for Legendary Eleven is that developer Eclipse Games is going to update it over time, but as long as the base feels this raw and frustrating, I can't recommend it.

Legendary Eleven arrives at the right time, just as the globe steps into the World Cup frenzy. Unfortunately the game does not manage to live up to the expectations of the moment. While there are some charming aspects about Legendary Eleven, namely at the level of its art style and at capturing the spirit of eras gone by, its control system makes the player feel completely removed from the action and the gameplay suffers immensely from this. To make it worse, the experience is significantly harmed by a series of bugs and flaws that render the game extremely difficult to enjoy.
