All in all, Strange Brigade is a solid romp that runs very well on Nintendo’s limited hardware. If you and a few friends are looking for a good cooperative diversion to blast through on the weekend, then you can look no further. If you’re hoping for a true successor to Left 4 Dead on the Switch, temper those expectations a bit.

Having played through the full campaign of Strange Brigade with my daughter on PC, and having a terrific time with it, I was overjoyed to see this announced for Switch...

Just like the first part of the trilogy, this doesn't change things up too much, rather it's just another level in a similar style to before with a few bells and whistles added. By this point, you'll already know if you do or don't like Strange Brigade. This isn't going to win over any new fans but If you don't need winning over, you most likely already have this or you probably want to go get it.

There is a lot of stylish hijinks flowing throughout Strange Brigade, which is really what makes the title work. It certainly plays better with friends, but it can be tackled solo as well. Decent weapon variety coupled with varied environments from one level to the next help to offset what is generally repetitive shooting gameplay broken up by puzzles that do help change the pace without ever really taxing my brain. Basically it is good at multiple things while seldom great at any of them. The end result is a rollicking adventure that occasionally frustrates but entertains more often than not.

If Strange Brigade has the good idea to offer an original set and tone in the kind of cooperative shooter, it does so either too late or too bad, but in any case, it does not fully convince. Especially against the competition already in place.

Strange Brigade is immensely fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously and allows wonderful interplay between the characters.

Strange Brigade, being Rebellion's latest try for a new genre, is an acceptable game. The game has various positive traits and as a Co-Op Shooter does what's best for it; that said, it has also some issues like it's lack of end-game content which makes it less of an almost flawless game.

To say that this game was everything I hoped is probably an understatement. It is fun, charming, beautiful and is just so easy to pick up and play. But I will say and the only reservation I have with it for most players is the issue of longevity.

Though I may be harsh on Strange Brigade it is because it is coming from a studio that has consistently put out top-quality, engaging, enjoyable, and replayable titles; Zombie Army Trilogy, next to Tom Clancy's The Division and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is one of the most-played titles in my household. Sniper Elite 3 is literally one of the only games I have 100%'ed … since the Super Nintendo was the primary household gaming system. I can say this with utter certainty … After beating Strange Brigade I will not be back to play it again for a long, long time. I cannot say the same for other Rebellion titles, as they are not chalk-full of reused and tiresome puzzles, simple and predictable levels, or sympathetic player characters. Sure the mid-mission briefings done old-school Newsreel-style with a bit of comic relief thrown in are spectacular, but it just feels "off."

"Strange Brigade" proves to be a fun arcade ballroom, which can convince in many, if not all points. Both the wild balling and the targeted use of traps make for a lot of fun when it comes to clearing the destructive mummy and skeleton hordes out of the way. Atmospheric settings, intricate labyrinths as well as varied puzzles skillfully round off the combat passages. Graphics and sound can be shown, but are sometimes a bit dusty. Even though the title also appeals to single players, it quickly becomes clear that the whole variety can only be enjoyed in co-op mode. All in all, especially die-hard co-op enthusiasts will find "Strange Brigade" to be the right permanent entertainment.

Strange Brigade is a solid recommendation for anyone looking to dig into some old school third-person shooting wrapped in that Left 4 Dead campaign style with an added bit of 1930s distinct flavour.

Strange Brigade is a fun but simple co-op shooter, wrapped in an enjoyable aesthetic with a hilarious narrator and unusual looking characters. Its trap-filled level designs are a natural chaotic joy, and the interspersing of easy to grok puzzles into the combat is refreshing to someone like me who’s never figured out a zombies level in CoD on their own. It’s not a great game to play on your own, and being a bit less than full-price, I only just feel like recommending it. There will be free horde maps for all players in the future, but new campaigns and characters are locked behind a season pass, so keep that in mind when considering your purchase. If you’re bored stiff of CoD zombies and have long left Uncharted and Gears behind, Strange Brigade could be for you and your budding boffins’ beards.

Creators of Sniper Elite are back with a new cooperative game in which you are a part of a strange brigade. It's just a shame that the brigade is not the only thing in the game that is strange.

While Strange Brigade doesn't necessarily do anything new it does provide a fun third-person shooter experience especially with friends. Its got a great setting, funny dialogue, solid shooting mechanics, and fun ways to kill enemies. I could see Strange Brigade becoming a more well known IP if Rebellion works out some of the issues with this first entry.

Strange Brigade is a rollicking good time, allowing teams of four to take on armies of the undead in a solid approximation of a 1930's serial film. There are tons of mechanics to play with and puzzles to solve, but in the end, this is a fun, fast-paced shooter with awesome graphics and enjoyable multiplayer. There was no need for Strange Brigade to try to be anything more, it is plenty great as it is.

This game was good. It was everything I hoped for. The style and design of the game are interesting and fun. The gameplay has great fighting mechanics, a mix of easy and challenging puzzles, and beautiful environments. Horde mode and Score Attack work together to provide a strong alternative to the story.

Strange Brigade easily shows us, Co-op play is still the best and most entertaining type of playing games. It is a Beautiful Third-Person Shooter and also, one of the most joyful cooperative online games that i have played in this generation. The most important point about Strange Brigade is that Playing it solo, is so many different from co-op, and if you want to see the real purpose and potential of the game, then play it with your friends. Strange Brigade is a game with the definition of "entertaining".

I wasn't expecting a huge amount from Strange Brigade, but what I got was a really enjoyable experience both offline and online. This was a pleasant surprise, as generally I'm not someone who would usually play online if I can avoid it. The fact that even I preferred playing online speaks volumes about Rebellion's efforts in making a game that's best played in co-op. There are a few things that could have been done better, but nothing that can't be overlooked. This is one of my favourite multiplayer games in a very long time.
