Strange Brigade is one of the best action-adventure co-op shooter games I’ve played in a long time + it has lots of puzzles. When you’re not burning a mummy to a crisp with a flamethrower, you’ll be solving puzzles on the wall or stomping on a downed zombies head in order to crush what little life it has left within it. Personally, I felt the lack of unique character stats and the small number of weaponry a little disappointing, but overall there is a tonne of fun to have as you take on hordes of horrendous beings who will stop at nothing until you’ve been ripped apart. Strange Brigade is just as much fun and accessible in single player as it is in multiplayer with friends and strangers alike – however you chose to play it, you’re in for one of the best mindless arcade-style games you’ll play this year!

Strange Brigade is a fantastic third person shooter that is best enjoyed with friends. The 1930s tone and quirky charm are wonderfully crafted, adding more of a light-hearted tone to the experience. The variety of weapons and abilities are nice and offer something for every type of player.

As far as third-person shooters go, Strange Brigade is up there with the best of them.

I wasn't expecting a huge amount from Strange Brigade, but what I got was a really enjoyable experience both offline and online. This was a pleasant surprise, as generally I'm not someone who would usually play online if I can avoid it. The fact that even I preferred playing online speaks volumes about Rebellion's efforts in making a game that's best played in co-op. There are a few things that could have been done better, but nothing that can't be overlooked. This is one of my favourite multiplayer games in a very long time.

Though it's value is diminished significantly to anyone looking to play the game solo, Strange Brigade stands head and shoulders above the pack as an incredible, action packed co-op adventure.

Strange Brigade is a formulaic action co-op that doesn’t break new ground as much as furrow a new groove in an already abundant genre. Does that make it boring though? No. Certainly not, and it’s actually quite brilliant. I haven’t really elaborated on the story, but not out of laziness or lack of understanding. There’s a dashing tale of adventure to be had, involving mummy queens and raided tombs. I just don’t want to spoil it for you. You may work out some tropes for yourself, especially if you’ve seen Brendan Fraser do his thing. It’s got some neat little jump scares in there, too.

I'd highly recommend Strange Brigade, regardless of your familiarity with games of this genre or style, anyone can get involved and enjoy it. Strange Brigade poses a fair but rewarding challenge, with the opportunity to push yourself further if desired. With the number of in-game items to unlock, characters to familiarise yourself with and modes to try out, Strange Brigade has plenty of content to keep you coming back for more.

Having played through the full campaign of Strange Brigade with my daughter on PC, and having a terrific time with it, I was overjoyed to see this announced for Switch...

In conclusion, Strange Brigade gets much more right than it does wrong, and it proves the power of co-op yet again. Played alone, this game isn't worth the time or effort due to the tedium. However, add in a friend or three, or at least some decent randos, and suddenly the game takes on a whole new feel and it instantly becomes a treat. It's certainly not the first game to prove this phenomenon, but nevertheless, if you have some buddies to play with, keep Strange Brigade on your radar.

Strange Brigade is tip-top fun with lots of bang for your buck, to use a dirty Americanism. A single offline campaign playthrough with a decent amount of exploration can run around 11 hours, and that's before you bring in the Co-op, Horde Mode, Score Attack, and secret hunting. Crucially, it's all incredibly fun, with entertaining shooting, a good level of challenge, hilarious traps and a good-natured atmosphere.

Strange Brigade easily shows us, Co-op play is still the best and most entertaining type of playing games. It is a Beautiful Third-Person Shooter and also, one of the most joyful cooperative online games that i have played in this generation. The most important point about Strange Brigade is that Playing it solo, is so many different from co-op, and if you want to see the real purpose and potential of the game, then play it with your friends. Strange Brigade is a game with the definition of "entertaining".

Strange Brigade is chaotic and fun in the right way. It may not be the most original game since it's heavily inspired by other games, books and movies, but it uses the approaches the theme very well, creating exceptional situations for lovers of mysteries, challenges and cooperative shooting.

Strange Brigade is a jolly good wheeze. The 1930's matinee cinema styling makes it unlike any other game on market and that's a rare treat. The campaign, although dragging in a few spots, is just the right length and has replayability thanks to the many hidden treats to discover, while the score attack mode and horde modes are pleasant, if rather flimsy, distractions. Tuning the accuracy of the weapons would make me very chuffed, but as it stands this is a sterling effort from Rebellion. I look forward to the further thrilling adventures of (dramatic pause) The Strange Brigade! Tally ho!

There's so much to like about Rebellion's squad shooter that most of its negative points cease to matter very much. It's not perfect by any stretch, but it's a confident romp by a developer that knows its audience. If nothing else, I've rarely played a game with so many explosive barrels per square meter, and that's a definitive win in my book.

Should you buy Strange Brigade? If you have some friends looking to invest some time in this game playing with you (and some money too, since they'll have to buy their own copies) then yes, absolutely. With pals, this is a great ride. Looking to go solo? Um, it's a bit more of a hard sell. You can jump in with people online of course, but it's not the same as your friends being along for the ride.

Strange Brigade brought me the most laughs of any game I've played in a long time and really packs the fun to boot. The narrator's wit brings so much personality to a premise that we've seen before that it feels like an entirely new experience.
