The eleventh entry in the Mario Party Franchise steers away from the gameplay of its recent predecessors and gets back to the roots of the early games. The classic turn-based still works as well as it did in the early Naughties and the new companion system makes Super Mario Party feel like an old-school classic enwrapped in a fresh reboot. If only there would be more playable maps…

Super Mario Party manages to get the series back on track in a big way, it’s selection of modes engaging, mini-games exciting and overall sense of fun high. While not every idea is a winner, it nails what fans have been after for many years while also injecting a few new twists of its own. It feels good to be able to say once again that this Mushroom Kingdom party is well worth RSVPing to.

As a multiplayer party boardgame, it shines and despite a few smaller niggling issues, it is another title to add to the growing list of great local multiplayer games now available on the platform. And due to its trademark Nintendo first-party polish and technical finesse, it may even be a contender for the stealing the top spot in the genre.

Super Mario Party is a wonderfully presented game packed full of excellent minigames; it’s just that the means to play them are disappointingly uncomplex. Mario Party mode is finally a step back to what fans have been yearning for, but the boards are small and straightforward. Partner Party, River Survival and Sound Stage are superb new additions, but having them limited to certain types of minigames means they get repetitive fairly quickly. Challenge Road is a great attempt at some single player stuff, but it feels a little undercooked too. Everything in Super Mario Party is good; it just consistently restricts itself in ways that keep it from being the great game it could have been.

Super Mario Party is a whole bunch of fun and would fit any home perfectly. I can’t imagine it would entertain for long solo, but if you have friends, or can rent some, there are some great Sunday afternoons to be had here.

By moving back to the formula that made the series so popular in the first place, Nintendo and developer NDcube have not only finally put Mario Party back on the right track but also created one of its best overall entries. Here’s hoping the next stretch of that track includes a proper online mode.

Super Mario Party is not a game to understand its true worth by only playing it for a few hours. the passing of time will determine how memorable it's gonna be in the minds of casual players. but from my own experience, if you were looking for a game in this genre don't doubt that you should buy this game, you won't regret your decision!

Super Mario Party is a return to what made it great. While it doesn't do much to radically innovate the series, Nintendo has proven that sometimes simplicity is best left untouched. This is a party game that will bring back nostalgic memories, ruin friendships, and provide a delightful time for whatever sized party you may bring.

Super Mario Party is a party game, as the name suggests. So you can be bored very quickly when you play alone. In the multi-player part and some mini-games are very fun when you play the first time. once you experienced that, they become a little pointless.

"Super Mario Party" skilfully continues the series of successes and offers a lot of new game food. The Joy-Cons of the Switch are ideally integrated into the game mechanics, so that the individual mini-games go well by the hand. Even though the individual modes leave nothing to be desired, it quickly becomes clear that Super Mario Party still unfolds its true greatness in multiplayer mode. With Super Mario Party, you've made the leap to the Nintendo Switch and guaranteed long-lasting party fun with friends.
