This is the Police 2 was interesting, but not all the time. After some time it became slightly monotonous and things began to repeat. Because of one mistake, I had to play the game again before I reached the end. This game has a lot of ideas that look great, but unfortunately are not finished. So is the second part better than the first one? Certainly not for me, because the first episode came to me that coined the principle in "simplicity is strength". In the second episode they tried to add a heap of new elements which most of them do not work as they should. That's a pity.

Bogged down by unnecessary hurdles and overly complicated storytelling, This Is The Police 2 does not do its premise justice.
This is the Police 2 is a sequel that tries to experiment on its mistakes, but the situation only gets worse. With a superfine narrative, but at times long and boring, and a management in disarray that unnecessarily complicates a strategic one that would have excellent bases to entertain. In this version for Nintendo Switch are added microscopic and almost incomprehensible texts in portable mode, no touchscreen and some uncertainty about the use of commands. Fingers crossed for the next chapter (if they decide to do it!).

Despite its flaws, especially on plot, This is the Police 2 still manages to be a compelling piece of gaming. With gameplay that can really suck players in and no shortage of police-style problems to deal with, it's definitely an experience worth looking into.
Despite not much changed in the core game, and the tactical combat mechanics are rather simplistic, This is the Police 2 is a solid sequel to the original game.
This is the Police 2 is an impeccably grim view of the modern police force. It deconstructs and subverts police genre stories with a protagonist that offers no remorse and warrants no redemption. It does this while providing an intriguing and vibrant cast of characters and a rewarding gameplay loop. It isn't perfect, but it certainly should not be missed.
Overall, This is the Police 2 is an outstanding game. It’s fun to micro-manage your team and it really makes you proud for when you get situations right and manage to save the day.
Jack Boyd shows that the truth has more than one side and that everything is justifiable. Although the story has some problems and the narrative has an inconsistent rhythm, the new gameplay modes bring a different feeling to the sequence, keeping the player more engaged, different from the first game that could become boring after some time.

On the whole This is the Police II puts obvious effort into being a better and more interesting game than its predecessor. While the development team obviously set their sights pretty high the results are likely heavily open to interpretation. People who thoroughly enjoy the challenge of managing their resources and struggling to keep it all together may thoroughly enjoy the experience, aggravations and all. However, if you’re just looking for something to start up and begin enjoying this sequel is a bit of a step back from even the original, becoming more cumbersome with the weight of its ambitions that don’t all work out.
It would be easy to dismiss this as a Fargo knockoff, instead of a game that’s trying to find its out story niche. It may be a bit disjointed in its pacing, but its core story is an engaging one, enough to keep me wanting to play through.
Police Story continues in cold Sharpwood with young sheriff Lilly and retired police chief Jack Boyd. And with new tactical combat. It is still acceptable.

This is the Police 2 is a great example of how to present a Tactical RPG game on Consoles. Everything from the menus to the GUI is fully optimised for either the Mouse on PC or the Controller on Consoles – this may seem small, but there are some games out there which don't get this right. The game is full of action, excitement, humour, and manipulation – a perfect list of ingredients for a game about dirty cops, corruption, criminals and the law. If you've played the original game then you need to play this as it follows on directly. If you haven't played the original, either go pick it up or just jump right into this one as all the backstory is fully explained.
The XCOM-style tactical missions are a good addition to mix up the gameplay, but the core mechanics grow grimly monotonous as you soldier on.
A sequel that adds a bit too much to its plate and ends coming up very short.
This Is The Police 2 is a distinctive and multi-faceted management sim with a fresh tactical edge. However, its list of punishing demands, perpetually scarce resources, and sluggish storytelling can sap the game of joy and momentum. There's a lot to do, and a fair amount of that is fun, but it feels like the game's many systems and demands are competing both for scarce virtual resources and your strained attention. In that sense, you'll come to relate to Sharpwood's put-upon new Sheriff all too well.
What This Is the Police is known for returns in the sequel, but its difficulty is so brutal that you may not even get to see all of it. The tactical missions definitely help to mix up the gameplay, but they take away from the more relaxed nature of the first title that we were expecting to be prominent here too. Fans of the original will find what they're looking for – an engaging story and crime dealing management – but they'll also have to put up with alarming difficulty spikes that can seriously hinder the experience if managed incorrectly.
Sometimes trying to do so much dilutes what you're trying to accomplish, and This is The Police II is a prime example of that.
A competent sequel that adds some neat touches, but doesn't fix enough of the first game's problems.
If you are a huge fan of the first This is the Police, you are in for an awakening. An awakening both good and bad, while some things such as the more in-depth officers and RPG like system were improved on, yet the over-excessive story and hard difficulty overshadows the improvements in those gameplay features. Some of these can be fixed with updates, others may not. I would love to see a third with the best of both worlds put in.
TITP2 is a challenging but enjoyable experience. Maybe the super hard difficulty is to understand its core message. As a simulator, being the chief police officer is a hard and enduring task. Sometimes you have to risk citizen lives for the greater good. Other times you have to neglect alerts and send your officers for personal gain. It's a cold and grueling world, just like Sharpwood. Despite its flaws, I appreciate the improvements in this sequel.
