Guacamelee! 2 Reviews
I'm not going to lie, Guacamelee! 2 is easily one of the most fun games I've played this year and it's hard to fault it even at its most infuriatingly challenging moments. The game has incredible presentation, great level design and is just as good whether playing solo or in co-op. If you're looking for a light hearted Metroidvania or 2D platformer to play on the PS4, then you need Guacamelee! 2 in you life.
Guacamelee! 2 continues Drinkbox Studios streak of outstanding high quality games.
A worthy successor to the first game, bigger in almost every way but without an inch of space wasted. But as it's grown in size and ambition, so too has the gulf between the herculean feats of strength Juan is asked to perform and the incomplete feeling of the universe he's doing so to save.
Guacamelee 2 builds on the same charm and platforming core as the first game.
Guacamelee! 2 is bigger and better than the first game while retaining the original's charm, humor, eye-catching art style, and rewarding Metroidvania-style gameplay.
Colourful, characterful and disarmingly charming, Guacamelee 2 is a hit.
I'm not sure if you can tell, but I really liked Guacamelee! 2. It took what made the first game and made it even better. Now that I've finsihed100% of the game I can say that its length was perfect, and I now look forward to doing a new run on Hard to get the final trophy I'm missing to unlock a new Platinum trophy for my collection. Guacamelee! 2, as was the case for its predecessor, is a must-buy release and one of the best games on PS4.
An enjoyable and funny game with a decent amount of content and challenge, but lacks a bit of polish and variety.

If you enjoyed the original Guacamelee!, this sequel is an absolute must.
The structure of Juan's journey may feel overly familiar to anyone that played Drinkbox's first game, but Guacamelee 2 doubles down on the style, personality, and gameplay that made it such a joy to play. The adventure is full of silly jokes and unique characters, it's a much longer experience, and the combat is deep and engaging enough that it's possible to look past the fact that you've seen most of it before.
Guacamelee! 2 has a few minor issues, but the core is so good and the game improves in all the right ways on its predecessor.
Guacamelee! 2 is a worthy sequel to one of the finest modern Metroidvania games. Its blend of challenging platforming, satisfying combat, and new abilities makes for a thoroughly entertaining experience. Occasionally it can feel like you're spinning too many plates, especially in multiplayer, but by and large, Juan's new adventure is a compelling treat that you'd be loco to miss.
Guacamelee 2 is as good as the first episode: if you loved the original one, five years ago, you'll like this too. Wonderful art direction, great music, very good gameplay, just a little bit frustrating sometimes.

Guacamelee 2! is a perfect second helping to the hearty offering that was the first title, and fans of the series will be pleased through and through.
Guacamelee 2 is a brilliantly made game on the presentation front and its few flaws don't limit its enjoyment.
Guacamelee! 2 is another solid, platforming gem from DrinkBox Studios. The world is bigger and badder, and improvements to the shop and Pollo power make Juan's latest quest a success. However, the sequel's extreme similarity to the original may be off-putting for those wanting more.
A game that's build over first's game basics, and manages to improve almost everything of that game, making Guacamelee! 2 an excellent metroidvania, but a less surprising game.

To say Guacamelee! 2 excels as a Metroidvania would be to sell it short. in recent memory.
Very similar to his predecessor but now playable up to four friends, Guacamelee! 2 always offers a mastered Metroidvania adventure, fun and colorful.

Though it sticks rigidly close to the template that made the original such a success it ultimately matters little - Guacamelee 2 is one of the finest platformers of the year.
