Guacamelee! 2 Reviews
I'm not going to lie, Guacamelee! 2 is easily one of the most fun games I've played this year and it's hard to fault it even at its most infuriatingly challenging moments. The game has incredible presentation, great level design and is just as good whether playing solo or in co-op. If you're looking for a light hearted Metroidvania or 2D platformer to play on the PS4, then you need Guacamelee! 2 in you life.
Super-charged in almost every way, Guacamelee! 2 makes its predecessor look like a backyard wrestling match.
To say Guacamelee! 2 excels as a Metroidvania would be to sell it short. in recent memory.
Caramba! Guacamelee! 2 takes everything that was good in the first part and makes it nicer, bigger and louder - as a bonus on-top there is a local co-op mode for four players. A must for all Metroidvania fans with PS4 or PC!

Guacamelee 2 is a game I didn’t know I wanted until a year ago when I saw the reveal trailer and it’s a game I didn’t know I needed until I played it. Guacamelee 2 doubles down on everything that made the first game great and improves on a few of the weaker areas as well. I don’t know where Drinkbox Studios can go with a potential Guacamelee 3 but I thought much the same thing after the first game and here we are five years later with a sequel that is a huge leap forward for the excellent original. There’s a lot of competition in the 2D platformer space this year, but you absolutely must find the time for Guacamelee 2.
If you played Guacamelee, get 2. If you haven't played either, get 1 and 2, and play them in order. Unless you're one of THOSE people... then just get 2, because it is the superior specimen of the two titles.
Guacamelee! 2 is a must have title.

Not once during my playthrough of Guacamelee 2 did I feel bored or look at the clock, and once I was done, I felt compelled to hunt down everything I'd missed. It's yet another triumph for DrinkBox and they probably have at least one or two more of these in them.
Everything about Guacamelee! 2 oozes charm, from the slick, responsive gameplay to the art and music. The difficulty has a tendency to rocket up now and then, although overall it's not a particularly difficult game. If anything, the jumping feels ever-so-slightly tighter this time around, and the huge array of moves and abilities, once mastered, make for some truly exhilarating platforming. Beautiful, bonkers, and brilliant.
With the only downside being that this may be one of the harder platforming experiences in recent years and therefore not for everyone, Guacamelee 2 stands out as one of the finest, and funniest titles of 2018. Don't let this one skip byailable
Guacamelee! 2 is the sequel the original deserves. Fast, fun, funny, challenging, and chicken-filled, Juan Aguacate shows us he's still got a few tricks up his mangas (sleeves), especially when he takes on his chicken form. Buying Guacamelee! 2 for $19.99 at launch is a no-brainer for fans of the original, as well as fans of platformers, beat-em-ups, co-op games, and anyone who wants to let their inner Luchador soar.
This sequel offers rock-solid platforming, funny dialogue, and addicting-as-ever Metroidvania mechanics. It’s challenging, rewarding and full of spunk. I recommend it as a must play for anyone who likes platformers, co-op titles, and of course, Metroidvania games.
Guacamelee! 2 is making approach - more and better. The core of the game was not changed, the platforming sections and the fighting with enemies were balanced, cooperation for four players was added, and an even greater dose of meme-fueled humor was added. True Gem.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but I really liked Guacamelee! 2. It took what made the first game and made it even better. Now that I've finsihed100% of the game I can say that its length was perfect, and I now look forward to doing a new run on Hard to get the final trophy I'm missing to unlock a new Platinum trophy for my collection. Guacamelee! 2, as was the case for its predecessor, is a must-buy release and one of the best games on PS4.
Guacamelee! 2 continues Drinkbox Studios streak of outstanding high quality games.
Five year was a long time for this sequel, but Drinkbox Studios have totally delivered with this one. Guacamelee! 2 takes everything that was great in the first game, adds more on top of it and presents you this title that is without a doubt a must-play. Hands down the best metroidvania I've played since… Guacamelee!
Guacamelee! 2 is a bigger, more fun, action-packed and even better-looking sequel that improves on everything the prequel did
Guacamelee! 2 is one of the best Metroidvanias on the market. The art style is fantastic. The writing is hilarious and will leave you in stitches on a whim. The world is diverse and chock-full of culture, life, and collectibles. And the game's unique focus on combat and precision platforming sets it apart from the pack. It's the kind of game you lose track of time while playing, and when it's over you'll just want more.
Guacamelee 2 is a hilarious, challenging, and rewarding follow-up to Drinkbox's original. It expands on the first's ideas in so many great ways, and marries a complex but understandable set of moves to both its combat and platforming.
Overall Guacamelee! 2 is a fantastic sequel to the first. Just by playing through you can see the love that DrinkBox Games have mixed into this wonderful bowl of avocado filled amazingness as you search for the keys to unlock the guac recipe that has no rival. With the amazing artstyle back once again, the epic music tracks, flying through the air as a luchadorian chicken and simply kicking the crap out of things as you search both high and low for where to go? This is one bowl that you'll want to dip your controllers into!
