A good narrative adventure, less impactful than the first Life is Strange, but a great message.

While the first Life is Strange was a fantastic story that I felt stumbled to the finish line, Life is Strange 2 feels the opposite. It started rough and gradually grew into a strong tale of sibling's rasing one another. How they go about raising one another is ultimately up to you.

If there’s anything that Life Is Strange 2 wants to say, it’s that everyone in the world deserves dignity, happiness and love.

Life Is Strange 2 has a better core relationship at the heart of its game, but it fails them with the episodic adventure's at times boring, formulaic episode structure; something its predecessor did not suffer from. Some of the story beats are preachy and unearned. Where Life Is Strange 2 hits its stride is more a technical feat: in how its core relationship between brothers Sean and Daniel becomes a game mechanic in itself, and how all the choices you make shape Daniel as he grows up.

Even though Life is Strange 2 didn't measure up to the lofty expectations set by the amazing first season, it still offers a gripping, emotional adventure giving you plenty to think about. And that should be enough.

It isn't that we miss the mists of Arcadia Bay specifically, or that we long to retread old ground; it's the slow etching of stories, scattered with care.

This tale of two brothers marks a more intimate and accomplished return for a studio keen to tackle tough issues with honest characters.

Life Is Strange 2 isn’t some pleasant walk in the park, but a perilous slog across the country, staring adversity in the face and overcoming it in search of freedom and a fresh start. It’s not always comfortable to watch, but it’s a journey well worth taking for fans of the series, and narrative-driven experiences in general.

Overall, it should be known that Life is Strange 2 is an achievement in narrative storytelling in video games. It’s an eye-opening story of two brothers that have everything thrown at them, yet they continue to persevere.

Life is Strange 2 takes the familiar formula and delivers it on a grander scale while tackling difficult topics across the USA.

Although Life is Strange 2 offers varied themes and visually exquisite moments, it falters by featuring an unappealing road trip adventure with disconnected episodes that lack character growth. Lethargic pacing and shallow interaction make for a boring sequel about two brothers that should have stayed home.

Life is Strange 2 is one of the best stories in video games. It tackles a lot and handles all of it with grace. It's emotional, evocative, heartwarming, and heartbreaking. Every choice you make matters not only to you, but also to those around you. The journey of the brothers Diaz is one you absolutely need to take.

Dontnod revisits their universe with a narrative-heavy video game filled with difficult choices and supernatural powers. This time, though, they show courage by distancing themselves from the story of the original game and by discussing complicated themes. Complex, political and with a powerful message, everybody should play Life is Strange 2.

Life is Strange 2 portrays events vigorously, exposing contemporary social problems in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable. The story of the Diaz brothers is more humane, tough, mature and certainly realistic. You may not fall in love with it like the first game, but its definitely an experience worth living. <br />

Life is still strange with this series. Dontnod managed to open difficult topics and made them playable, but the game isn't as appealing as the first one.

It was worth the risk: Life is Strange 2 tells an emotional and touching story, just like the first game, and the finale is much better this time. Although the pacing sometimes suffers, in the end this road trip still is great.

Life is Strange 2 delivers a strong message and it's impossible for you not to feel some emotions while playing through the five episodes. Nevertheless, the story is not as interesting as the first game, most characters are not memorable and above all: the character we control (Sean) has no powers (only his brother has). That is, we play in a passive way, guiding Daniel. The mechanics of going back in time from the original Life is Strange are what made it unique, while its absence here makes it just another adventure among so many others.

Living in America as a kid with brown skin has never been harder, or more frightening, and Life Is Strange 2 is a harsh primer in that fact. Nevertheless, there’s light and beauty in this journey, as this is a game that values the boundless hope of the two young men at its center, and without invalidating America’s darkness.
