The Nintendo Switch has the privilege of having the first home console version of The World Ends With You, bringing its already known level of quality, art style, soundtrack and fluid gameplay to a more contemporary audience. Despite its upgrade, the game still plays better on handheld mode, as issues with the control make it less fluid and less practical on a television screen. Nevertheless, this new version has enough elements to stand on its own and both fans of the original game and newcomers are strongly advised to dedicate some time to this marvel of a game.

The World Ends With You still holds up well today despite releasing years ago. Some of its appeal is lost in the transition to a different platform, but the story and combat system is still enjoyable. The soundtrack with the choice of a remixed option gives the fans an opportunity to experience it all over again. New types of gameplay options including co-op support and an original story scenario only adds further appeal to this otherwise fantastic action RPG.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a solid port of a classic, but it's far from the definitive edition we were promised.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a great port for the most part and allows a brand new audience the chance to experience this quirky, super stylish JRPG if they didn’t get the chance 11 years ago. It does have some prominent control issues that will take some getting used to if playing in docked mode but the handheld option provides what I consider to be the definitive The World Ends With You experience.

Sure, an enhanced version of a mobile port is bound to disappoint some, but The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a more accessible version of the original that's still an extremely memorable and one-of-a-kind experience.

Despite these issues, however, this was some of the most fun I've had with my Switch thus far, and it's an integral part of any Switch owner's library – control problems aside. You're invited to play the Reaper's Game, and you'll enjoy (most) every minute of it.

Well done, Square Enix, another lazy mobile port to the big platform. But this isn't the main problem – Switch version also suffers from dumb and unresponsive motion and touchscreen control schemes. They blatantly ruin all the fun this game can provide. The worst version of TWEWY to date.

So The World Ends With You Final Remix is a port with problems, that much is certain, but I can't help but feel it's still a game well worth playing. I genuinely expected to be disappointed with how the game plays, and while there are some frustrations present that you shouldn't have to deal with, it's still such an enjoyable venture that I have to recommend it to JRPG fans. Oh, and the music is amazing.

The World Ends With You is still an engrossing and unique game, but this port does more to make it worse than better

The World Ends with You -Final Mix- is a great surprise for the lovers of the RPG genre that own a Nintendo Switch. For all of those that may want to discover this Nintendo DS classic or simply play again, the will find a complete game that, nevertheless, faces important issues regarding the movement of the characters

The World Ends with You: Final Remix on the Nintendo Switch is an interesting game and although I had fun playing it, the title did feel a little dated when compared to other titles on this console. Personally, I would have fine-tuned the combat a little better on the Nintendo Switch and I know that the developers were being innovative but the touch screen and the Joy-Con felt a little limited into what you can and can't achieve. Nonetheless, The World Ends with You: Final Remix is an interesting yet enjoyable JRPG experience on this console, although a little lacking.

I had a lot of fun with The World Ends With You: Final Remix. After my motion-based rage died down, I learned to really love this port. It's a great game to pick up and play whenever you find the time.

Now on Nintendo Switch, The Worlds Ends with You Final Remix is still a good and enjoyable game, but the port is lazy. Everything comes from Solo Remix, a mobile version from 2014, and the added gameplay system, with one Joy-Con that is used as a wiimote is not as efficient as it should be.

Still a courageously original action role-player that breaks almost every rule in the role-playing book. Although what it really needs is a sequel, not another remaster.

The World Ends With You -Final Remix-, while still great for newcomers, should have been the definitive version of the Nintendo DS classic but it ends up being just an improved version of the mobile game with far too little new content.

The Switch port of the DS RPG holds up well, even a decade after the original release.

Over ten years later, TWEWY has lost none of the fun or style that made the original such a cult classic. Although the controls leave something to be desired, the chaotic battle system, catchy soundtrack, and engaging storyline all combine to make this an unforgettable RPG that hits all the right points. We'd give this one a high recommendation to anyone that hasn't yet experienced this gem in some form; there's plenty here to make this a game that's worth your time. If you've experienced the game before, however, we'd advise that you think hard about how badly you want it for your Switch. If this is the last we see of this property, then The World Ends With You: Final Remix feels like a fitting sendoff, even if it isn't perfect.

A hurricane of style, good ideas and convincing narration clashes with a difficulty so low that sometimes is irritating: beyond an all-but-old problem of about a decade, The World Ends with You remains an incredibly fresh and original game that deserves to be played by both veterans and those who missed it on the DS in 2007. There is no better opportunity to brush up on the adventure of Neku, just hold on to the touch screen and leave the Joy-Con in a corner. The party, this time, is the exclusive prerogative of the handheld mode.

There's plenty of you with 3DSes collecting dust somewhere in a drawer, like mine is. If that's you, go figure out where to grab a copy of the DS version of this game. It really is worth it, and if you're at the same place where I was when I first played this game, it might just change your life.
