TWEWY -Final Remix- does a stellar job with updating the DS originals visual and aural design. Some control issues and changes to combat mechanics to fit the Nintendo Switch are unfortunate but the story and game systems are still excellent and will still have you eagerly trying to survive the Reaper's Game.

The World Ends With You still holds up well today despite releasing years ago. Some of its appeal is lost in the transition to a different platform, but the story and combat system is still enjoyable. The soundtrack with the choice of a remixed option gives the fans an opportunity to experience it all over again. New types of gameplay options including co-op support and an original story scenario only adds further appeal to this otherwise fantastic action RPG.

Since it’s been a while since the original title made its debut, chances are you are like Neku and don’t remember everything at this stage. If that’s the case, the Switch version can provide you with another round of entertainment that can be played on the go and in the comfort of your own home. For newcomers, picking up The World Ends with You: Final Remix should be a no-brainer as it’s definitely the definitive version of the Nintendo DS gem.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a fun, challenging play that will pull you into its story, and either delight or frustrate you with its battle system.

Pulsating beats, cool sayings, fashion as armor and the Joy-Con as pointer: The World Ends With You works very well on the Nintendo Switch despite the lack of precision in battle and will continue to impress in 2018 with its gripping story and incomparable style - whether you experience the adventure in TV or handheld mode.

Even though poor motion controls hurt its rating, The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a fun and worthwhile piece of art.

The World Ends with You certainly stands out from its RPG peers by offering a unique art style and a battle system that makes great use of the Switch's control methods.

I had a lot of fun with The World Ends With You: Final Remix. After my motion-based rage died down, I learned to really love this port. It's a great game to pick up and play whenever you find the time.

Ultimately, The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a so-so port of an excellent jRPG. If you've never played it before, there's still a great time to be had. However, if you have the choice, grab the original.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix makes for one of the most unique Switch experiences by its very nature. Best played in handheld with touch inputs, it shows the versatility of the system and brings back a fan favorite franchise with a fresh layer of HD paint.

The World Ends with You: Final Remix on the Nintendo Switch is an interesting game and although I had fun playing it, the title did feel a little dated when compared to other titles on this console. Personally, I would have fine-tuned the combat a little better on the Nintendo Switch and I know that the developers were being innovative but the touch screen and the Joy-Con felt a little limited into what you can and can't achieve. Nonetheless, The World Ends with You: Final Remix is an interesting yet enjoyable JRPG experience on this console, although a little lacking.

Still a courageously original action role-player that breaks almost every rule in the role-playing book. Although what it really needs is a sequel, not another remaster.

Despite the subtitle Final Remix, it's hard to call this version of the game definitive.

The World Ends With You -Final Remix-, while still great for newcomers, should have been the definitive version of the Nintendo DS classic but it ends up being just an improved version of the mobile game with far too little new content.

For fans of the original masterpiece game, The World Ends With You: Final Remix is almost useless. Controls got worse, and some features were cut. As for the rest, it's a game with an interesting plot, cool characters, amazing soundtrack and and beautiful visual style. Try to play it on Nintendo DS or 3DS if you can.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a solid port overall. Still, unless you're an absolute diehard fan of the game who has to see the new story content, I have a hard time recommending this to anyone who's already played it on the DS. And for newcomers, if you can push past the awful touch controls, The World Ends With You provides a gripping tale that will consume you from start to finish.
