Do I recommend Warriors Orochi 4? If you are a fan of Musou games, beat em ups or hack-n-slash games, I absolutely recommend picking this game up as soon as possible. I have already poured dozens of hours into it, and I know that I am going to be pouring hundreds more as the days go on.

Warriors Orochi 4 brings the Warriors franchise back its roots -- after the disaster that was Dynasty Warriors 9 -- while pushing it in exciting new directions.

Warriors Orochi 4 is the latest in a long line of Musou brawlers, a new entry in its own sub-series that assumes your fandom already as a multi-series crossover. Despite its roots in historical fiction, Warriors Orochi 4 allows itself to dip into over the top, supernatural territory, using mythology as an excuse to put real-life generals and warlords into even more bizarre combat situations. Bringing the likes of Zeus and Ares into the mix only makes things more fantastical, and the combat mechanics are bumped up to scale. The ceiling on combat potential has been shattered here, and using the new tools at players' disposal can allow them to more or less combo indefinitely to their hearts' content. While the breezy, fast and simple style of Musou isn't for everybody, fans will undoubtedly have a blast pushing this one to its breaking point, should one even exist. Warriors Orochi 4 is an easy highlight in a series that has consistently improved (Dynasty Warriors 9 being an exception) over the past few years.

It's pure fun, and with Warriors Orochi 4, Koei Tecmo has done such a lovely job that I suspect I'll be coming back to it frequently for many years into the future.

Overall, with a cast of over 170 characters to play as, an absolutely insane amount of character dialogue and an equally insane amount of enemies to slay, Warriors Orochi 4 will keep you busy for hours and hours on end. The story mode featuring missions that take anywhere from 7 to 20 minutes each to complete results in satisfying battle sessions that are rewarding. Gameplay is excellent despite being repetitive hack and slash based since it is quite simply, incredibly fun and implemented in a non-aggravating non-grindy manner. The sheer number of characters each with unique weapons makes Warriors Orochi 4 a must buy game for fans of the musou game genre and is quite easily one of the best fun games of 2018.

Warriors Orochi 4 is a great offering in the tactical action genre with massive scale, excellent combat solid RPG offerings. Some repetitive NPC usages coupled with the grindy nature of the title might be a turn off to sum. However, if you are someone who loves develop overpowered characters and teams, is a completionist at heart or is looking for a title to grind through while binging whatever is on Netflix, Warriors Orochi 4 delivers!

With thrilling, classic Musou gameplay, new systems, and a fun story, Warriors Orochi 4 is a really great game that both fans of the series and newcomers can enjoy. It might be the ultimate Musou game following the same traditional blueprint Omega Force stuck with for almost two decades, as future games might all pick-up the open-world formula.

Warriors Orochi 4 is another game in the series. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel and basically stays the course. It’s good for fans, but if you felt like there was something missing before, then this one won’t do much to change your mind.

Warriors Orochi 4’s offering of a massive roster and the ability to use magic in combat makes for a fresher experience that fans of the series will enjoy though it's repetitive nature still lingers for those who aren’t fans of the series’ signature element of taking down entire armies on your own.

Warrior's Orochi gameplay can be a little repetitive, but the chance of switching betwen characters and the great variety of different attacks makes it a must play of the Xbox One catalogue.

Warriors Orochi 4 is like a dream Musou game: matching up the two largest rosters from Omega Force, but like a dream, can at times be pointless or without direction.

Overall, Warriors Orochi 4 might not do much to break the mold, but it's a lot of fun. With arguably too many characters, new attacks and powers to use, it's a nice twist on the familiar series. Toss in a new foe and a tons of things to level and do and it's hard for fans to say no. Sure, it might not have the best story or stand out in terms of the franchise, but if you're looking for a new Warriors game, this is a solid choice.
