Earth Defense Force 5 Reviews
Earth Defense Force 5 is the best episode of the franchise. The game is always very fun, with a lot of monsters and spaceships to destroy, alone or with friends. There is a lot of content, and despite graphics that feels old, and a lot of repetitivity, it's still a very good an satisfying game !

Earth Defense Force 5 is a shallow entry in an enjoyable series that's reliance on older mechanics in and of itself has become outdated.
Insane mass battles with excellent B-movie flair, that make a lot of fun with friends, but offer too little variety.

A sci-fi third-person shooter that sets the player against massive hoards of giant monster, insects, and aliens. EDF lacks in story and contains intentionally bad dialogue, but you get to blow up lots of stuff.
Earth Defense Force 5 mixes a compelling sense of power and powerlessness, creating chaotic, overwhelming battles filled with laughter and drama that make it hard to put down.
Earth Defense Force 5 takes what the previous games in the series were known for; Classes with huge customization, large-scale battles, and a story about mankind defeating enemy forces. If you're looking for a third person shooter that you can keep coming back to for different experiences, EDF 5 will keep you entertained for hours.
I'll admit that I went into Earth Defense Force 5 a little concerned about series fatigue.
It's hard to believe that EDF 5 is a decent game because of the poor graphics performance, dull story, and repeated gameplay. But still, as a fan-based game, it's the best one in the franchise, and fans of the series definitely can find a way to enjoy it.

Earth Defense Force 5 is a great game for folks who don't need any good reason for just wanting to blow up a lot of bugs with a lot of guns.
Earth Defense Force 5 doesn't do much to get away from the series standards of campy story telling and underwhelming graphics, but does improve upon the series' unique appeal by reducing grind, increasing enemy variety and giving soldiers some new tricks to get around the battlefield. There's nothing quite like EDF and this is the definitive entry in the series.
Earth Defense Force 5 is the sheer definition of a cult classic, but it doesn't break new ground. It's more of the same, just bigger and better. It's a brash, dumb, guilty pleasure that is best enjoyed with friends. It will never be the game of the year, but it could turn out to be YOUR game of the year. When all is said and done, that is what really matters.
Despite our issues regarding player progression, Earth Defense Force 5 largely delivers on the promise of over-the-top bug shooting action. It may not have the same depth as many other titles, but there are more than enough moments of big stupid fun across its 60 hour campaign to make you want to give it a go.
Earth Defense Force 5 is an immensely generous package that is bursting at the seams with content. Fans of the series will be undoubtedly satisfied with the all-you-can-eat-buffet approach to the range of options and playability. Newcomers will also find this latest entry the best place to start, as it is the best representation of what the series has to offer.
Earth Defense Force 5 doubles down on its B-movie aesthetic to create an experience that is equal parts goofy and fun. The lack of enemy variety leads to some repetition, but those who grew up with cult cinema classics will enjoy taking down this alien menace.
Earth Defense Force 5 doesn't shake things up, but it presents a fun and highly customizable arcade shooter perfect for co-op play.
tyron Lannister once told john Snow to know your weaknesses and wear them like an armor. That’s exactly what the creators of Earth Defense Force 5 are doing. They exactly know what problems and shortages their game is suffering from, and yet instead of just trying to hide them, they throw them in your face and even make fun of them, and that’s really brave. EDF 5 is not perfect, and everybody knows that. But it’s fun and offers everything you would expect from an EDF game.

If you're looking for an action-packed third-person PS4 release, then this is what Earth Defense Force 5 is going to give to you.
For all its nonsense, giant monsters, and ever-escalating explosions, there's also a sense that this EDF, moreso than its predecessors, has also remembered that something can be B-grade, and still convey some kind of message of worth.
Earth Defense Force 5 stands in the face of pretty much every game released these days. It’s the game that doesn’t bother trying to keep up with the Jones’ because it’s happy doing its own thing and being just what it wants to be.
