Quite simply, Metro Exodus is the perfect way to round off this trilogy, and a testament to the powerful evolution that a gaming franchise can make. The open world offers a whole new perspective from which to enjoy Artom's tale. Whilst there are some niggly issues with AI, and maybe an overuse of bespoke animations, the fact remains that it is hard to think of a better example of how to design a single-player survival adventure. Visually stunning and packed with audio detail, this is something that should be experienced by any PC gamer.
But, get past those gripes and there is a competent, strongly put together first-person sneaker in there. Realised in some of the most beautiful locations to date, alongside a constant in game narrative with a ragtag team that is as adaptive to the change as you are, there is depth to Exodus.
Walk along to Metro Exodus' slower pace, take your time with what it has to show and tell, and you'll be in for one of the most powerful post-apocalyptic journeys out there.
With more open spaces to explore and out of the claustrophobic ruins of Moscow, Metro Exodus goes into an interesting direction showing a classic post-apocalyptic world more familiar to the fans of this genre. Flawed but charming, Artyom’s journey is full of emotions and action packed, in a well-paced game that has almost everything a Metro game should have.

Much like the previous games in the franchise, Metro Exodus isn’t perfect. Yet, despite that fact, this threequel’s bold decision to take its world in a new direction means that its glaring positives outweigh its lack of refinement. The gameplay is solid, the visuals are terrific and Metro Exodus’s decision to try new, courageous gameplay mechanics makes it a thrill to play, overall, meaning that this is not only a fitting culmination to Artyom’s story, but also 4A’s studio-defining work on the franchise as well.
It’s dark, it’s punishing and it has an atmosphere that brings its dead world to life. While Metro Exodus has problems in the gameplay and technical department, it still offers a wonderful alternative to games that are a little bit more safe.
Metro Exodus bets big on interpersonal relationships and world building, something that the other two games in the series lacked badly. Its more mundane approach on how Artyom's crew perceives the post-apocalyptic landscapes they explore in their search for the promise land is what makes Metro Exodus a great game.
Metro Exodus is the Metro that you were expecting to see. It's the same S.T.A.L.K.E.R that you've been waiting to see for years. Up until now Resident Evil 2 and Metro Exodus are the best games that I have experienced in 2019. I like to recommend this game to you 100% but not everyone will be able to deal with its controls and hardcore difficulty. This is enough to turn Metro Exodus from a popular masterpiece to a cult game that only a select few will enjoy.

4A has taken so much of what worked well from the previous games and improved upon them. Where possible it also switches up so many established concepts on their head, meaning you're never completely safe. This leads to some memorable, intense experiences with plenty of leeway to play the game your way.
Metro Exodus hits its stride when it's doing what it knows best and that's combat in confined spaces.
Metro Exodus gets you on a journey which is rare these days. The story of Artyom to find a new home is a unique experience that keeps you on the edge of your seats till the very end.

In sum, Metro Exodus takes the best elements of 2033 and Last Light and adds a major evolutionary component with open world exploration and crafting.
Metro Exodus is ambitious, engrossing and at times genuinely disturbing. Above all it tells a fantastic tale set in a world that all the game's superb aspects work hard to immerse the player in. While ‘the post-apocalyptic Russia' may not sound like an appealing destination, Metro Exodus is well worth the trip.
The conclusion to Artyom's journey has the best gameplay and most compelling story of the series, on top of incredible visual and audio presentation. It retains the series' simplistic stealth system and falters with control, writing and dialogue issues, but even so, Metro Exodus is an odyssey worth undertaking.
In general, despite its setbacks, Metro Exodus manages to tell a story that will keep your interest and will make those who decide to play it, interested in the fate of this group of people.

As the game progresses further many of Metro Exodus’s problems begin to alleviate themselves as the experience becomes more defined. This allows for the game’s unique blend of gameplay and narrative storytelling in a horrific environment to shine through. While most titles in the horror genre focus on jump scares and other classic tropes, Metro Exodus allows the environment of post-apocalyptic Russia to do all the work. Players who take the time to experience what this new entry into the Metro series has to offer will no doubt witness one of the greatest narrative survival horror experiences present within a video game.

Is Metro Exodus good? Definitely. Was it worth the long wait? Without a doubt. Should you buy it? If you're a fan, then just stop reading go play it. If not, go through previous games which are enjoyable experiences themselves and are cheap on every console. If Exodus is the future of the series then sign me up for more. If it's the future of single player games, then sign me up doubly-so since there's not a single scrap of online, micro-transaction, or live service bs in here. 4A have really done me proud with this one. Perhaps I'm easily pleased or I can ignore certain things - not many bugs came up and one graphical glitch happened on the Volga level which has since vanished after a patch. Apart from that, the game is fantastic, and I'm having a blast playing on the harder difficulty now to push myself and my skills even further. I love Metro's world, the design, the aesthetic, and the whole package in general - Exodus takes everything I love about it and amps it up to the next level for me.
Metro Exodus is a memorable trip that is equal parts atmospheric first-person shooter and gritty survival horror drama set in a post-apocalyptic world. While suffering from some technical issues, the game itself is extremely well made from the way narration of the story happens to how combat encounters play out.
