Jagged Alliance: Rage! Reviews
It sits in a sweet spot for the genre which is just challenging enough for the hardcore to while away an afternoon on, but accessible enough for casual players to enjoy too. At £23.99 on release, it may be a little on the pricey side for what it offers, but it’s definitely one to consider, especially if you find it on sale.
Jagged Alliance: Rage offers a lot to like for fans of XCOM and other similar titles. It's one of the few games in the genre to provide a genuinely great two player co-operative experience. Whilst the game suffers from numerous bugs, a rough UI, plenty of smaller issues and overall low production values, it still manages to feel like a diamond in the rough. Don't sleep on Jagged Alliance: Rage - you might be surprised just how much fun there is to be had here.
Jagged Alliance: Rage! is not worth experiencing much. You will feel that this game hasn't aged well and there aren't many innovations to bring it back to glorious days of this series, and because of that Jagged Alliance: Rage! is a big failure and gets the lowest possible place among the story-based titles of this series of tactical games.

If it can receive modding support anywhere near the level of the original Jagged Alliance games, Rage should have a promising future ahead of it. Right now though for its full retail price? I’m going to say give it a pass.
Jagged Alliance Rage is missing a few important features that would make it Jagged Alliance 3. It is a damn good game that is a perfect stepping stone for another in the franchise.
Jagged Alliance Rage! isn’t the threequel we’ve been patiently waiting for. Instead, this is a spin off the does things a little bit differently, some of which lands and some of which doesn’t, especially on consoles. The humour and light heartedness does carry much of this game because without it, you could be playing any number of grid bound, turn based games. It’s this attitude though that makes it assuredly a Jagged Alliance game worthy of the name that’ll carry you through till 3 finally sees the light of day.
I honestly feel this game along with any other strategy turn-based games should be left on computers and mobile phones because it is easier to work with. This game is designed to have a mouse and keyboard; with just a controller it felt as if I was being held down, like being forced to put on a seatbelt at the dinner table. Overall a decent game but not my style of genre games.
Jagged Alliance: Rage! delivers a fairly middling strategy experience where many of its better ideas and gameplay mechanics are hampered by poor AI and numerous design decisions that bring the game’s pace to a crawl.
With XCOM available for almost every platform, why anyone would play a subpar version of it is beyond me.
Very controversial spin-off set 20 years after the first Jagged Alliance has some good points and cooperation, but it looks like mobile game with some flaws.

Jagged Alliance: Rage is yet another release that uses the Jagged Alliance name but fails to deliver. The turn-based gameplay and the survival elements are good enough, but in other areas there are tons of shortcomings that not only disappoints the old fans of the series but also fails to ward off competition from other turn-based titles available on the market.

Despite AI issues, low Variety of Weapons and some minor problems, the core gameplay of Jagged Alliance: Rage is fun and attractive and it is successful as an spin-off game. If you like turn-based strategy games or tactical shooter games, you probably love this game. Fun gameplay elements, deep combat system and beautiful art style, made Jagged Alliance: Rage a good choice for fans of this genre and Jagged Alliance series. It is a game that worth to try.

If you’re looking for your next meaty turn-based strategy to sink your teeth into, though, this isn’t it.
If you're looking for a new strategy RPG to take for a spin on PlayStation 4, then Jagged Alliance: Rage is a good option. It's not going to set the genre on fire, and some might not like the reduced scope of the number of mercenaries you take you on a mission, but what's here is solid, challenging and fun.
Even if you've exhausted all other options and are desperate for another turn-based strategy game on PS4, don't give the sluggish, buggy and downright ugly Jagged Alliance: Rage a second thought. XCOM 2 this most certainly isn't.
PSN Price: $29.99
Hopefully, the developer will listen to their public and patch things up, so that Jagged Alliance: Rage! can reach its true potential.
There are few positive aspects one can take from Jagged Alliance: Rage and the few that the game offers are obliterated by its critical performance issues, making it a game most players should avoid.

I'm really struggling to find anything good to say about Jagged Alliance: Rage, other than that its name is appropriate. I suppose the stealth mechanic sort of works, although even there occasionally your sneaky work can be ruined by a patrolling soldier somehow glitching and eternally clambering on and off a rock instead of completing his route. Each playable character has a background trait that is supposed to play out as a weakness but that you rarely notice in play. The characters you choose to play seem irritated by one another, and by everything going on around them all the time. I've got to say, I think it's pretty understandable.
Jagged Alliance: Rage! has great tactical gameplay, and enough interesting ideas, however its various elements struggle to line up to make a constantly captivating experience
