Imaginative, beautiful, and utterly strange, but you'll need to really love the story to endure its idiosyncratic combat.

Even if I find myself in the middle with Killer7, I'd still recommend everyone give this a go. It may not be a game you need to finish, necessarily, but it's utterly unique and needs to be seen first hand. I don't think Suda hit his stride until his next title (No More Heroes), but you can see the seeds of greatness were planted with Killer7.

Bizarre and catchy with awesome story. But a bit outdated with terrible controls as well.

Truly, Killer7 is a mad piece of work, and embracing it doesn’t come all that easily. Those who do open their arms for it though, will find themselves in for one hell of a wild ride.

Killer7 is a unique third-person shooter with serviceable game play, a well-realized art style that remains fresh and unique, and a compelling story.

Despite some stiff gameplay mechanics and fairly simple combat, Killer7 manages to hold up very well even more than a decade after its initial release. The narrative is truly interesting, and there is no question that SUDA51 was well ahead of his time with both the visuals and some of the twists he threw into his story along the way. Killer7 is an example of a game that took chances, and those risks helped Goichi Suda establish his well-deserved following.

Though this story of war, assassination, and disposition is not for the faint of heart, it will indulge those seeking a deep and dark universe. killer7 is a nostalgic trip back to a style of gaming that encourages players to find their own answers by exploring a rich universe.

A waste of psychedelic creativity, an author's video game in its purest form. You will love it or you will hate it, but surely it will not leave you indifferent. A pity that the absence of translation, and even more the absence of subtitles in the cinematics, minimizes its already reduced potential audience.

Killer7 is a game that defies convention at every turn. Nothing it does ever feels by the books, sometimes it seems to deliberately break certain “rules” just for the sake of breaking them. It’s a shooter, but it does things so differently from other shooters, its hard to really put it in the same category. The game oozes style in all aspects. If you’re in the mood for something that’s astonishingly unique, it’s really hard to go wrong with this game. It’s $20 on Steam, a single playthrough will last about 15 hours, and there’s extra modes you can unlock to play around with for added value. It’s well worth the money and certainly worth your time.
