As it stands, it's really only good for mindless entertainment. I guess the same can be said of most YouTube channels, too.

Youtubers Life is an extremely good game for Xbox One, PS4 and specially Nintendo Switch. A great chance to become an important figure of the Youtube scene... without risking our lifetime.

YouTubers Life OMG is an agreeable video-making tycoon game wrapped up in a few fundamental problems. The main gameplay loop is compelling, and it's a pleasure to watch as your subscriber tally and bank account start to soar. However, some poor presentation, a clumsy camera, and a couple of other small issues stop it from being the viral hit it wants to be. Those looking for a casual management sim to tackle may find some enjoyment here, but it's hard to recommend it to anyone else.

Fans of simulation games will probably quite enjoy this title. While it isn’t as in-depth or fleshed out as The Sims, Youtuber’s Life is addictive and fun in a more condensed form.

Youtubers Life OMG! Edition is a great game for anyone who wishes to discover how it feels to live the life of a YouTuber and what kind of satisfaction can be gained from this particular profession. Some dynamics are very interesting, but its repetitive gameplay is likely to bore quickly.

Youtubers Life OMG Edition is certainly playable. It didn't crash once, but it did bug out several times. If you are a hardcore simulation fan, or if you want a game where you don't really want to think too much about the experience, then go ahead and try this game. But if you are looking for a polished simulation experience, I'm afraid you won't find it here.

" I never figured out what distinguishes OMG Edition from the standard edition, and likely won't. Youtubers Life has hints of a decent life sim peeking out, but is never given a chance to shine due a layer of meaningless mechanics and endless stuttering that stunts progress. Don't like or subscribe to this channel.

Youtubers Life: OMG Edition is a barebones sim with a monotonous gameplay loop that'll make you never want to be a YouTube star.

Youtubers Life OMG Edition is a life simulator first and foremost, with the U-Tuber aspect almost irrespective of the core game cycle. In fact, you could seamlessly replace “recording Youtube videos” with “creating song” or “recording podcast” and this could quite easily be “Garageband Life” or “Soundcloud Life” instead. Where the game does succeed is to highlight how a Youtuber’s life is, I imagine, bizarre and hard work at times, especially when you’ve got creepy events like fans offering you cash for an item of your clothes. It’s droll and witty at times but a slog and confusing at others, presents a skin deep interpretation of dating but with a strangely appealing structure that keeps you playing. While the core cycle has been done many times before and better than it is here, there’s a youthful, innocent charm to Youtubers Life that’s undeniable. Unfortunately, that doesn’t cover up all the peculiar leaps of logic and the pedestrian, mundane nature of the game.

YouTubers Life OMG! Edition is a cute little game that peers into the hectic nature of running a “U-Tube” channel while running your own life. Unfortunately, the monotonous gameplay leaves what could have been “simple but fun” as “simple and grindy”.

While YouTubers Life is certainly a novel experience and there are aspects of it I can appreciate somewhat personally given what I do it’s also not a terribly deep experience either. While it has some fun aspects like creating your videos this really just gets to be a grind after a while as your focus is far more on maximizing your numbers and not too much about creativity. While you have the ability to change your character’s clothes and surroundings to a degree that can also be expensive and it competes with putting money into new equipment so it really takes a back burner, though the game tries to incentivize you buying new fashions to unlock some content. While there’s certainly nothing like it on the Switch and it can be fun in some regards the simple and grindy roots of the experience coming from the mobile space aren’t hard to spot. But if you’ve ever wanted a sort of window into the world of building a social media empire perhaps you’ll find it of interest.

I started my review with a caveat (typical Lawyer) and it was always going to be an uphill struggle for Youtubers Life OMG! to make me a fan. I must admit it did become quite addictive but ultimately I did get bored with it and didn’t really care in the end if my character became a youtube star or not . As I said just simply not a game for me. I do think the game would work well as a mobile game and indeed there are ios and Android versions already out there. Those with ambitions to be a Youtuber who are perhaps a bit too young and skint to buy the proper kit to successfully stream games on twitch and youtube will probably love this game and it is worth a look for them. I generally don’t dislike simulation games but I like them to be of something that I am probably never going to have the opportunity to do in real life and perhaps by focusing on the gaming channel it was all a little bit too close to home for me. I would never buy a Law office simulator (who would) and therefore as I review games for Thumb Culture there was no sense that I was doing something I couldn’t or wouldn’t do in real life. All that being said if the devs brought out Youtubers Life Fyre Festival dlc I would be all over it (I really do recommend that documentary on Netflix (other video streaming platforms available)).
