Adventures of Pip is an inoffensive platformer that doesn't do a whole lot wrong, but it won't stand out in your mind a few days after beating it. While it does last though, it'll bring a smile to your face.

The fundamental platforming of Pip and his pixelated prest-o-change-o are where his adventures shine brightest. While nothing else seems to especially stand out or, in some cases, falls somewhat flat (looking at you, secret areas), the overall package is still pleasantly portrayed and is undoubtedly mechanically sound. Certainly worth a look for anyone who likes their pixels with platforming peril.

Overall I enjoyed Adventures of Pip for its novel aspects and sighed my way through the parts that let it down. If I could go back in time I would definitely play Adventures of Pip again -  frustration, failed witty comments and all - though I'm not so sure I will play this game again anytime soon.

The indie platforming scene is thriving, and the 'Adventures of Pip' is another example of why that's happening. It tells a light and fluffy story but does it with panache, love, and great controls and mechanics. It's perfect for platform fans who want to take a trip down memory lane, or anyone who enjoys jumping on the heads of bad guys.

Adventures of Pip is a delightful little platformer full of charm, challenge and impeccable level design. While still a little rough around the edges, its mechanics are unquestionably solid, and it's clearly been crafted with the love and talent of a team determined to realize their vision.

As it is good and not great, Adventures of Pip is good enough to play through once, but most likely never again.

Adventures of Pip has a brilliant mechanic with some fun stages, but lacks the level design and difficulty needed to be a high-res star.

In the end result, I was very pleased with Adventures of Pip. It wasn’t a perfect experience, mostly due to the boss fights and recurring glitch, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. The puzzle platforming was a delight, and the hidden villagers add much-appreciated replay value to the relatively short experience. The art and music come together to make a very vibrant and enjoyable experience, and one that shouldn’t be missed for fans of Wii U at a mere $14.99. Whether you get this on Wii U or Steam, Pip is a hero for all resolutions!

A retro platformer that sets itself apart with the protagonist's transformation from a single pixel into 8- and 16-bit incarnations. Tic Toc Games' impressive pedigree at WayForward is on full display in Adventures of Pip—one of the only problems is that it's not quite as feature-rich as you'd like.

As an overall package Adventures of Pip delivers a fun and satisfying platforming adventure. The visuals are charming and beautiful to look at.  The soundtrack alone is worth a listen at the least as each track perfectly captures the level's atmosphere and the overall sense of adventure.  Adventures of Pip may not be a game that will shake up the gaming industry but it also doesn't need to.  It's a solid platforming adventure with a fun storyline that introduces some fresh ideas worth trying out.

With a few minor annoyances, the gameplay is fun while also offering a difficulty that I would consider just right. It starts off easy, and gets harder as you get more comfortable with the various forms that Pip can have.

Adventures of Pip has plenty to offer in terms of action, as in addition to completing each level, players can rescue three of the scattered townsfolk within each stage. The game's pixel currency can also be used to buy helpful items and upgrades to aid Pip in his journey, and each boss battle bestows a health increase upon victory.

A solid platformer, with interesting mechanics and loads of charm. Adventures of Pip is a fantastic addition to a crowded genre.

Adventures of Pip is a solid platformer with a clever little gameplay mechanic, but ultimately doesn't do all that much with it. That being said, away from the mechanics, it was also good to see one of these retro-themed platformers do something more with the art style than simply have it as window-dressing. Adventures of Pip actually turns pixels into part of the gameplay, and that's neat.

Adventures of Pip is a fun, ambitious action-platformer with an original concept, but it has a frustrating power-up system and sparse (though excellent) music.

It's a solid foundation, and if Adventures of Pip proves to be as financially successful as it deserves to be, I would like to see a sequel that promotes more exploration, ala Super Mario World. Branching paths, secret exits, "expert" levels. You know the drill. Adventure of Pip is a wonderful little platformer and further proof that Kickstarter can help fund some of life's more pleasurable joys. $14.99 is a steal for one of my favorite games so far in 2015.

It's another pixel platformer that's solid in nature and has something to offer, but does misstep along the way.

Adventures of Pip is the good kind of nostalgia: it doesn't simply mimic the production values of vintage games, nor does it feel the need to constantly allude to their existence. Instead, it revives the design philosophies that made those old titles so inspiring. The result may not be the most forward-thinking game ever produced, but it also doesn't need to be. For anyone looking for a light-hearted platformer with a firm understanding of its own mechanics, Adventures of Pip is the best choice available since Shovel Knight.

The Adventures of Pip is an example of a perfectly fun platformer. It doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but it's a solid and well-made game. The only things really holding it back are the short length and the unavoidable feeling of repetitiveness that sinks in toward the end. Anyone who is a fan of platformers will find a lot to like here, and the core gameplay stands well enough on its own that I enjoyed the game from almost beginning to end. A little game with a lot of heart, The Adventures of Pip is easily worth a playthrough.

The cute and adorable Pip brings along an engaging story, clever mechanics and great design which makes it stand out among some other platformer games in recent history. Tic Toc Games made a great game and for $14.99 the game is a must play indie game for
