Team Sonic Racing Reviews
Team Sonic Racing is the perfect addition to the Switch's kart racing lineup. It's a fast and exciting roller coaster of a racer with the style and spunk you'd expect from the Sonic series. While it doesn't perform on the Switch as well as on other consoles, that doesn't change the fun of speeding through this iconic universe.
Fast arcade racing with Sonic and his friends. You have to race together and work as a team. There should be more game modes but it is still funny ride.

If as a fan of Sonic you are worried that Team Sonic Racing isn't a good game, you are totally wrong. Just don't expect something extraordinary, the game carries some mistakes and bugs but still it goes forward in its direction regardless.

GOOD - Team Sonic Racing is a fun alternative to other competitive racers on the Switch. It features bright and detailed graphics, easy to learn controls, and a cool team-based approach to racing not seen in other titles. It seems a little sparse on tracks and characters, but perhaps we’re just spoiled by MK8 Deluxe. It’s well worth the $40 asking price!
It might not push or break any barrier but Team Racing Sonic is still an overall fun and enjoyable kart racing game. Definitely recommended for any fans of Sonic the Hedgehog.
In the end, Team Sonic Racing is a standard racing game with good features. If you're a fan of Sonic, don't miss out on it, but if you want to go for the style of the game, don't miss out on a CTR remake or even if you have a switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great option.

The team-based mechanics help Team Sonic Racing stand out from other kart racers, but Mario Kart is in no danger of losing pole position in the genre
Team Sonic Racing is a shadow of the All-Stars Racing Franchise, losing more than just a fun cast of racers in the transition. There's still some fun to be had in this derivative kart racer, but you're better off seeking two other racers to join you on the track.
The first question I always ask myself when testing various Sonic Racing titles is, why does the world's fastest hedgehog have to master various race tracks with a race car? Unfortunately, this question is not answered until the end of the game. Nevertheless, Team Sonic Racing remains an average fun racer where there is potential for more. The fact that you can help your comrades and thereby get bonuses yourself is very well done. Unfortunately some AI friends are so badly programmed that you lose because of them and the frustration level rises. My highlight in the game were the different modes. It's fun not always having to drive a Grand Prix. The various challenges are well chosen and demanding. Unfortunately the Nintendo Switch version has such immense frame rate drops and lags in the online mode that you should consider buying the game on Nintendo's handheld. Team Sonic Racing is fun, but is definitely no competition for Mario Kart!

The Blue Blur is back in this fast and fun kart-inspired arcade racer, with a few twists for good measure.
Sumo Digital is back to hit you with that fantastic Sonic Racing action. Team Sonic Racing has a new focus on team-based mechanics, but it ultimately feels like a step back from the excellent Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The tracks are great, there's a whole of new customization options, and Team Adventure's challenge courses do well to differentiate the game from its peers, but it's a rebuilding year.
In most circles, Team Sonic Racing probably won't unseat Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (or Transformed's ever-enduring legacy if my house is any indication), and that's fine with me. Plenty of folks will enjoy the Sonic focus and many of the tracks would have been fantastic as Transformed DLC. I just wish it wasn't as limited in scope out of the gate.
Taken on its own merits, Team Sonic Racing is a fun karting game that doesn't quite match Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in terms of either performance or sheer level of content, but still offers satisfying handling and should still keep Sonic fans entertained for a while. It's impossible not to compare it to its predecessor, though, and in all the areas where Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed excelled, Team Sonic Racing is merely competent. By no means a bad game, then, but when we look back years from now it won't be standing on any karting game podiums.
When you and your two pals are sharing item pick-ups, driving in each other's racing lines, and skimming past one another for a boost, Team Sonic Racing shines. It offers something different in the kart racing genre.
If you love Sonic or need a competent kart racer, Team Sonic Racing is a solid choice - just don't expect it to raise the bar.
Team Sonic Racing is a fun and intelligently designed, albeit content-light, kart racer. The game's central focus on teamwork gives the experience a unique and engaging flavor and its sense of speed kept me dialed in. But, that isn't enough to assuage the title's evident flaws. From an unimpressive roster of stages to lacking modes outside of Team Sonic Racing's great single-player campaign, I'd be hard pressed to see this game lasting more than a dozen hours for many fans. While the fundamentals are fun, this racer could've used a tune-up before coming to market.
Team Sonic Racing offers a satisfactory experience. If you love Mario Kart 8 and want something on Xbox One, the game should satisfy you in the interim. However, you might want to wait for another, better game like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
We don't want to drag Team Sonic Racing down for ultimately quite trivial points. At the end of the day, Sumo Digital has served up a solid kart racer that succeeds in bringing something new to the table. It won't be to everyone's tastes, but the cooperative racing adds a nice layer of rapid fire strategy. It's implemented well, to the point where standard races feel distinctly secondary. It might be lacking the wow factor SEGA's other IPs brought to Sumo's other racers, and it's a shame performance is a little rocky, but this is a good option for PS4 players who want some arcadey thrills.
Although I found a few cracks in the facade, I still had some decent fun with this game. The Sonic aesthetic is plastered over every surface, the songs kick you out of your chair, and teamwork system adds a lot of mileage.
Team Sonic Racing is a fun arcade racing game with familiar characters, good track designs and an emphasis on team play, which suffers from outdated graphics, lagging multiplayer and other number of problems. Do not expect revelations.
