Tries to do a whole lot and doesn't do it all perfectly, but certainly doesn't fail either.

My Time at Portia is a peaceful, beautiful life simulation that offers a calming experience, but little that pushes the boundaries of its genre. Simulation fans will find plenty to enjoy in this large, detailed world, but little to surprise them.

My Time At Portia isn't the best game in its genre, but it's still a appealing and well-made game. Despite some shortcomings in gameplay and storytelling, living in the colorful and beauteous world of Portia is very enjoyable. Developers got their inspiration from other RPG and simulator titles to create a lovable title that's definitely worth trying and despite being incomplete it can still be addicting.

My Time at Portia is an amazing port of one of the best Farming, Harvesting and Building sims this generation. Whether you’re out in the field tending to your livestock, mining for resources, building items for the community, or just sat in a cafe chatting to your soon-to-be wife, there’s always something to keep you busy and entertained within Portia. Graphically, the game looks like a 3D modelled Studio Ghibli movie with its bright colours, stunning backdrops and detailed character design. Once I really got into it I found myself totally addicted to it, I just couldn’t stop playing!

Overall, it’s a wholesome gem and a worthy rival to games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon

It’s easily one of the best chill-out games there is, and if you feel like you want to channel your inner-builder, then Portia lets you do this wonderfully.

GOOD - My Time At Portia is a charming attempt at the Simulation RPG genre. While it has its fair share of flaws that make the game difficult to get into at first, the experience beyond the entry point is nothing short of rewarding. There’s a sincere charm to this game that you don’t often find.

My Time at Portia already had my attention, but now that I’m actually deep into playing it, I’m obsessed. But don’t let that distract you from the fact that there are several issues that you’ll need to overcome to also get to that point.

Though the content and concept of My Time at Portia is sublime, having the potential to enslave your attention for months to come, the Switch port lacks the polish and love it so desperately deserves. Should quality of life fixes be implemented, this will certainly be worth sinking your time into. For now, not so much.

With its charming setting and straightforward but pleasantly deep crafting system, it’s very easy to get sucked into and spend many pleasant hours in Portia, but those aiming to get through all of the story missions will likely find it overstaying its welcome.

If you can get past its graphical and technical shortcomings, My Time At Portia is a lot of fun. There are many things to do, sights to see, products to craft, and relationships to cultivate – really, there are hours upon hours of content for those that enjoy multi-layered, but easygoing grinds. You have to be in it for the long haul though – nothing in Portia comes without an equal amount of effort put in first.

My time in Portia was longer than I thought, because the game captivated me. The mixture of exploring and working on the field has become optimal. In My Time at Portia you don't have to watch the fields all the time. Because of the time gained, I was able to focus more on exploration. The world of My Time at Portia offers so much to discover and I wanted to see everything! The story has been well integrated into the overall game structure. You can't see the post-apocalyptic scenario in the game, but if you delve deeper, you can see the former world at every corner. What you can give credit to My Time at Portia is the fact that the game has been completely translated into German. Here and there there are gaps where there are still English text passages, but these are rarely seen and don't disturb the flow of the game. Also you can see the game's PC past, because the gamepad controls are very spongy in some places. You can also see this when you search or select something in the menu. All in all, My Time at Portia is a wonderful game with a few quirks. If you want to play a solid simulation game with an exploration factor, My Time at Portia will definitely give you a good time.

My Time at Portia takes a lot of positive notes from popular farming simulators like Stardew Valley and Minecraft, and puts its own creative spin on things.
