Rough and wordy, God Eater 3 is not an improvement on its predecessor

God Eater 3 have an interesting story about the moral turpitude of the humans, as well as better graphics than the other God Eaters, some additions to the gameplay and the most important, a fantastic soundtrack.

God Eater 3 manages to fix some shortcomings of its Handheld predecessors but doesn't deliver the technical jump with the current console generation you would have expected, which goes through everything from the dull leveldesign to bad voice acting. Fans of the series will still get some fun out of the challenges in the multiplayer, assault and endgame missions.

God Eater 3 isn't quite polished like Monster Hunter World, but it surely is the best alternative to Capcom's videogame.

God Eater 3 is a fun game but lacks anything new and different from the previous installments, the fast action fight system is fun no doubt but proved to be outdated and limited, the design is OK at it's best, and the story is probably the worst.

God Eater 3 is a truly evolved and enlarged version of the previous Game. The fascinating story and storytelling, well-crafted gameplay and enjoyable campaigns, along with good and satisfying visual effects, have provided fans of the genre with an action title that is a great leap forward for the series.

The new episode of God Eater saga has good ideas, taken from the best games of the genre, but poorly implement.

God Eater 3 is easily the best entry in Bandai Namco’s monster hunting franchise.

Although almost every single mechanic in the game feels eerily similar to the Monster Hunter series, God Eater 3 manages to stand on its own (monstrous) two feet thanks to some incredible combat and a surprisingly engaging story.

We love some aragami and weapon design, but gameplay gets too repetitive and character progression is too complicated.

God Eater 3 does enough to push the franchise forward with new mechanics, improved visuals, and slick animations but is held back a little by annoying camera angles and some poor environments.

God Eater 3 is a blast. It has all the charisma of an action-packed anime and the gameplay that we all know and love. It is a great restart of the series, which proves that this franchise could work very well on home consoles, maybe even better than its portable predecessors.

God Eater 3's another frenetic action RPG where the enjoyable rhythm and flow of combat is enough to outweigh most of the negatives. Whether you're up for a lengthy session or you're just stopping by to farm some materials, the game's easy to sink your teeth into, and there's plenty to chew on should you find yourself hooked thanks to the in-depth character progression. While more could and probably should have been done to bring God Eater's visuals and cumbersome menus up to speed, there's still plenty of skilful hack and slashing on offer here.

God Eater 3 might not be perfect but it's a lot of fun. The new gameplay mechanics make for a faster experience, something that works really well in this world, along with enough depth to keep players interested. By retaining some key elements, such as guns, power ups from enemies, online multiplayer and crafting, there is more than enough to keep most people interested for a fair amount of time. When you consider there is also a rather interesting, albeit anime-esque, storyline, it makes for a fine adventure. Sure, it isn't perfect or going to beat Monster Hunter: World but there is more than enough to have fun or join others in overcoming some obstacles.

While God Eater 3 has its share of problems, it's still an incredibly fun action RPG that I found myself playing for hours on end. While it's not quite up to the quality of Monster Hunter World, it's worth playing for fans of anime aesthetics and JRPG tropes.

In a perfect world, God Eater 3 would have been a leap in quality similar to Monster Hunter World and had been the big coming out party for the series. Sadly, that isn’t the case here at all. Instead, fans got more of the same with little innovation and the extra difficulty feeling more artificial than interesting. All in all, Marvelous’ first attempt at making a new God Eater title is just fine. It won’t wow any new players, nor will it feel like such a departure from what made players fans in the first place.

God Eater 3 stands as the first pure experience of the God Eater franchise away from the handheld consoles. In the end, it turns out that Shift did a really good job with a game that cherishes its characters as well as its possibilities in the battlefield.

Although God Eater 3 boasts some stellar gameplay mechanics that allow you to play how you'd like, the surrounding aspects keep it back from being otherwise a great game.
