Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition sets out to be a product that us 90s kids can look at in nostalgic joy. In some ways, they really capture that with the Earthworm Jim type gameplay with more adult humour (you can turn off blood and swearing in the menu!). Unfortunately, they also captured some of the more annoying parts of those games as well. I think the game has good ideas, but I did not feel like it was executed well enough for modern gamers wanting a nostalgic trip or those looking for a solid platformer.

Overall the gameplay is tight and responsive. The shooting is like Metal Slug and the platforming can be difficult at times but not unfair

If you want to play a retro style platformer with humorous quips on the move, Rad Rodgers Radical Edition is worth a look. It’s not going to set your world alight, but chances are it won’t leave you regretting your purchase, either. Especially not with its newly added features and content.

Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition has the basic building blocks to be a good throwback platform shooter, but it doesn't put it together very well. The shooting seems fine until you realize that most of the enemies are there only so you have something to shoot. The platforming is fine until Dusty gets temperamental in deciding whether to climb a platform. The Pixelverse sections are frustrating, the presentation feels badly done, and the extras don't add anything significant to the game. On a system with so many other better options in this genre, it's difficult to recommend this one.

If you are looking for an uncensored, no punches pulled platformer with a healthy heap one-liners and fast flying bullets, Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition may just be your on-the-go ticket to the past. Be forewarned: it is a trippy ride with some bumps along the way. However, some experiences from the past are worth revisiting in all of their awkwardness and discomfort. They may just remind us how much we have grown… or how much we still love a good fart joke.

Rad Rodgers Radical Edition serves up a hefty slice of side-scrolling shooter action and Metroidvania-esque exploration.

Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition has one well defined mission: to pay tribute to the early 90 action platformers with plenty of shooting and for that, it performs quite decently, as its fun moments, good presentation and variety of weapons demonstrate. On the downside, it doesn't aim for anything else and any members of the audience who are not interested in this style of gameplay will not be captivated by this effort, which should also improve its level design and soundtrack.

A simple yet interesting classic platformer that will be on the likes of those who want a classic game, but will not be that interesting for those more 'modern' gamers.
